I had lead my men into Minuna. We fought and killed the people and even though they fought back, they were no match. I used my frustration and pent up anger on them.
We entered their market, killing innocent souls which I refuse to consider as innocent. No one was innocent. But then, I felt my energy decreasing massively. I still hadn't eaten for days but that wasn't the reason for my decreasing strength.
I ordered my men to retreat and that was the first time I ever retreated from a fight. When we returned to my residence, I discovered I was injured. An arrow had been shot at me. I pulled the broken piece out of my stomach and threw it aside.
Most of my men were also quite injured. We were a few men against a whole Kingdom. Agh... I felt frustrated.
I was still angry. I wasn't having enough, I wanted everyone dead. The image of the princess crying also wouldn't stop haunting me, so as my godforsaken mother who had come to inform me in my dream that I'd die. That was why I retreated from the battle when I felt my strength rushing out of me.
I couldn't die, I wouldn't die. I refuse it. But I could feel it. All of my strength was leaving, it felt like I was being filtered of my strength and I hated how weak my body felt. But still, even at this state, no one could compete with me.
....
I sat in my office, a permanent scowl on my face. I sat there from noon till night and to morning again. None of my men had come to meet me. They were all afraid to be anywhere near me, seeing how blood thirsty I was.
But all I really wanted was the princess. Her scent to calm me down. I let my head fall backwards as I remembered how her lips felt against mine. How her hips swayed when she tried to seduce me.
I couldn't go to her even though I wanted to steal her away so badly. She deserved better. She was betrothed to that imbecile prince. Agh... I want to kill him, I needed to end him and take her for myself. Just like my father did. I could now see from his point of view and perhaps I was no different from him.
I closed my eyes trying to picture her perfect face in my head and it was so easy. She was the only face that I could remember. And she was simply beautiful.
My ears picked up a slight noise from outside and I opened my eyes in annoyance. Soon there was shuffling outside my door. I inhaled.
" Enter" I spoke and the door opened. Two of my men walked in holding a.... Palace guard? My eyebrows furrowed. I frowned and sat straight. Did the emperor send a messenger? I laughed within. One that I'd definitely kill. This idiot would not be returning.
" My lord. We found him in the bush not far from here" one of my men reported bowing his head and I hummed. They pushed him down and he fell on his knees, his head bowed. He was visibly shaking.
" What did that boneless emperor send you?" I asked resting my arms on the armrest of my chair. He was silent. This annoyed me and I leaned forward.
" Do you want to die?" I asked and he quickly shook his head.
" Then speak" I ordered." I... It. It's the princess who sent me.." he mumbled. At first I didn't quite get it, but once I did. I stood up instantly..
" Repeat" I ordered again.
" The princess sent me" he said hurriedly. I looked at my men and they took the hint and left.It was now just me and this palace guard who claimed to be sent by the princess. I couldn't trust him. It could be a trap by the emperor. The guards were all loyal to no one but the emperor and this was obviously against the emperor's wish, since it had to do with me and the princess.
" Go on" I said. My voice less threatening.
" Please save the princess and our kingdom. Velander is in trouble. The princess asked me to inform you of this" he spoke. To save her?My body tensed at that, but from what?
" Why should I believe what you say?" I asked and I saw him searching himself. Soon he brought out a white scarf tied with a ribbon and stretched it towards me.
" The princess asked that u give this to you, saying you'll smell the scarf" he spoke.I slowly took the scarf from him. The scent of the princess filling my nostrils as I brought the scarf close to my face. I eyed the guard and untied the ribbon, then spread it open. I read what was written on it and with every word I read. My blood boiled.
She belonged to me and she wanted me. Even if she was betrothed, it didn't matter. She didn't want him but me. How dare that old man. I looked at the guard.
"When did she give this to you?" I asked. He shook
" Two.. two days ago" he stuttered and I stared at him. I only had today then. The princess trusted him and he actually helped her. He seemed trustworthy." Stand... We leave at once" i said and he stood up. They were all going to die. All of them.
Okay this chapter wasn't that long. But all your questions would be answered in the coming chapters but for now. Please be patient.
