Rosalie's POV
My face went neutral upon hearing Marcus's words from downstairs. Esme and Alice looked at me in concern as I heard Emmett start demanding answers.

Esme, Alice, and I were upstairs in the nursery feeding the children their bottles and settling them down for a nap. The children were already asleep, so we put them in their cribs. Alice and Esme went downstairs, while I stayed behind.

I sat in a rocking chair and looked at Violet's crib, deep in thought. I understood that this wasn't their choice, you can't choose your soulmate. The twins simply met theirs too early.... 16 years too early. It was awkward and uncomfortable for everyone involved and the twins had no idea what to say or do.

I honestly felt bad that they were put in this position.

None of us knew that this was going to happen, but now that they've met separating them would lead to death. Mates die when they're separated from each other, or go insane like Victoria or wind up like Marcus who was pretty much dead after Didyme died...

The thought of Violet dying or going insane like that broken my frozen heart.... She is just a baby.

As her mother, how am I supposed to make this decision to separate her from her soulmates because they accidentally met too early? What is the right decision in this scenario? Is there a third option?

I faintly hear Emmett arguing and sigh before going downstairs, as I re-enter the living room I hear Emmett yelling "You're kidding me, right?! She's only a week old!" I look around and see Jane and Alec, their heads hung low in shame.

While Carlisle and Marcus attempted to pacify Emmett, I approached the twins. My calm approach silenced everyone and drew their attention to us. I stood before Alec and Jane, who seemed nervous.

I crossed my arms in an unsure and insecure manner "Are you going to take my daughter away from me?" I asked making them snap their heads up "What? No! Never!" "That would hurt her! Why would we ever do that?!" They were quick to answer with horrified expressions. I think for a moment "Would you be willing.... To wait until Violet is ready for mates?" I ask, hesitantly.

Jane and Alec honestly look relieved by that suggestion "We've been waiting for 2,000 years for her.... What's another decade or so?" Alec said making me smile a little bit.

"Can we request.... To visit her every once and awhile?" Jane hesitantly asked "Of course, I don't see a problem with that" I said softly before giving her a smile, that she returned.

Aro chose now to clear his throat and say "Now that, that's settled.... Back to the problem at hand; Edward and Isabella" this made everyone groan.

"I don't think we have much time to come up with a proper plan..." Felix said as he pointed outside where we saw Edward and Bella walking up to the house with Bella wearing a smug expression on her face.
