[Volume 0] Chapter 1-The Outcasts

We open this story on a busy street, the animals were passing each other and waving along. The store owner saw a young couple, quickly waddling his feet to his candy jar. He quickly plucked two lollipops for the two lovebirds. They smile and thank the pig for the gift. They stumble upon an alleyway, peering into it, they see a cardboard box. "Honey, what's that?"

"Oh... Y/n's burrow? He's always lived here. Just appeared one day." the fox spoke as the two continued to walk. Down the end of the alley, there lies a mix-breed dog. Seemingly most of the appearance featured dog features, but you'll find out later in the story that it's not all. For now, let's move on. Y/n sat in the cardboard box, sitting and waiting. He looked at the metal for his gadgets before looking at the donation bowl... Y/n swore he saw a tumbleweed.

"Hey." a shadow is cast over the dog as it stretches to the other end of the alley. The figure takes steps towards the boy while the sword is shown in the figure's hands. Y/n turned around with a smile as the hand gripped his shoulder.

The Jackal looked at Y/n with a smile, he had a couple scars on his face, "you ready to juice?"

"Zero! Oh yeah, give me a few seconds!" Y/n rushed out the box and started searching through the alleyway. Zero looked around at the state of the place.

"You know, I'm sure one of my squad mates can find you a place." Zero picked up a rusty screw stuck to a baseball cap, "you won't have to deal with...(tosses cap) this."

"AW, thanks! But I'm okay! I got the wisps to keep me company when you're not around!" Y/n says, while holding a radar in his left hand. He pulls the strap out and attaches it to his belt. Zero looks up to see several wisps floating around in the air. "Besides, you'd be lost without me close to home anyway."

"I never could keep you away." Zero snickers, placing his hands behind his head. "Alrighty, I'll meet you-"

"Oh no you don't, Zero." Y/n grabs Zero's arm. "Last time you went on ahead, you completely left me in the dust."

"Alright, are you up for greenery?" Zero hinted, but Y/n was confused.

Zero looks around as he questions where he is. "Wait, where's the camp? Hey, Y/n, do you know where we are?"

"Hmm," Y/n smacks the radar a bit, but the signals were wavering. "I'm getting high presences of radiation in the jungle. Whatever it is, it's messing with the radar."

Zero looks down at Y/n, patting him on the back. "...hey. Well, we need to keep moving, right? From what you said before, it can't be that far away."

"Right!" Y/n regained his confidence and smiled. He pointed his head into the air, sniffing for the direction, "alright, follow me!"

"Aye aye partner!" Zero saluted and joked around. The two are seen walking through a dense forest. Although, it was a forest...it looked like a jungle. Long branches and trees were spread around the fields. Zero effortlessly hopped over some branches and started taking in the greenery. There weren't any animals in the forest except for...

"A hover wisp?"

That's right. A singular wisp in this dense forest. What are the odds? Y/n just shrugged it off and kept walking. It looked like the wisp followed slowly behind him.

"What are you lonely or something? Whatever suits your boat." Zero said to the crow as it just looked at him confused. "Why am I talking to a wisp?"

"Maybe you're going crazy from the missions." Y/n teases while Zero ruffled his hair.

"Hey, hey! The captain can't afford to get tired! Crazy, that's completely reasonable!" Zero kept walking until he got to an open field. The more they walked out to the clearing, the more they was confused. There was a waterfall and floating lands. The sounds to the after crashing into the rocks, the crumbles of dirt falling from the islands, these all gave a heavenly feel to the area."The heck?"
