-On Angel Island-

Knuckles is seen resting at the Master Emerald Altar, "as much as I enjoy a good treasure hunt, you can't beat the peace and quiet of Angel Island. Come to think of it, it's been a while since I've been roped into one of Sonic's adventures. I'm always saving his..."

"KNUCKLES!!" Knuckles turns to face the voice, and it's none other than Silver the Hedgehog. "Oh good! You are here!"

"Silver?" Knuckled pondered.

Silver landed right in front of Knuckles, "we've got big trouble! Eggman-"

"How can you be here? I thought you returned to the future?" Knuckles asked in disbelief. "Oh wait! I must be dreaming!"

"No! Something very strange seemed to happen out of nowhere!" Silver tried to explain, raising his hands. "reality seemed to distort and a vision of Eggman with the Master Emerald appeared to me! I thought it was a sign to warn the guardian of the Master Emerald right away."

Before

Before figuring out how to take precautions. Knuckles turns around with Silver to see the ancient Ecdina village, "well if this isn't a dream, then how do you explain that?!"

"What the- where did Angel Island go?" Silver was worried.

"This is Pachacamac's village...from the past..." Knuckles gripped Silver's shoulders, "silver! Did you time travel is to the past!?"

"N-No! I just came back from the future! I don't know what's going on!" Silver says before he peeks at a foe behind them, "Something's behind you!!"

From behind them, on top of the Master Emerald, emerges a familiar figure, one that Silver has never encountered before. Knuckles gets on guard as the figure is revealed to be Choas-0, knowing that the team and Chaos-0 were in an unknown place when it came to allies or foes. "Be on guard, Silver!"

0 goes to attack the two as they quickly dodge out of the way, Knuckles grits his teeth, "I forgot he has a bad temper!"

Knuckles goes for an uppercut, but it only separates the water. He tries to follow up with a leaping strike but goes through Chaos 0. This leads Chaos to swirl around before slamming a water fist straight into Knuckles' stomach. Silver quickly steps up, "I got this!"

Chaos 0 tries to attack Silver, but a cyan aura surrounds him just before he can make contact. Silver smirks and extends his arms, "Gotcha!"

However, Chaos expected this and had a piece of him somewhere else, leading him to strike Silver's back. Knuckles offered a hand to Silver, "That's a new trick. We're going to have to work together on this."

Silver wiped his mouth and picked himself off the ground, "right. What do you need me to do?"

Chaos-0 started to reform his arms and spin them. Knuckles commanded, "Just get me a clear shot at his brain... NOW!"

Silver held 0 and Knuckles quickly lit his fist on fire before slamming it into the brain. Chaos slowly fades away into a strange blocky aura as does the village, leaving Knuckles utterly confused, "that was way too easy. Where did Chaos go? What happened to the village? What's going on?!"

"This all has to tie into the calamity that's about to befall us!"

"Come again."

"Something happens in this time that brings the world to ruin! But the historical records are sparse or make no sense. I came back to prevent whatever was going down." Silver explains, which makes Knuckles take the matter far more seriously. Knuckles looks at the Master Emerald, before nodding at Silver, "So..."
