Chapter 04 : As Rich As Ivory ≿ · ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈ · ≾
Charging high in the clouds, the team headed for the Ivory Region.
The best arts and literature were crafted in the land of Ivory. This high-class region existed in the north from the queen's castle. Some of the finest architecture lived in Ivory, glimmering in pale or deep colors. Suyin had never visited this region, but she knew it was luxurious, especially under the queen's close watch.
As the team proceeded north, Suyin straightened her back for a better view of the Ivory Region ahead. Their dragons soared high over the pastel buildings aligned with the cobblestone streets in an organized matter. Suyin admired the people wearing delicate blues, pale pinks, and light lilacs.
Amongst the crowd, the ladies' dresses clenched their waists while flowing down the skirt in lace and soft fabrics. Gentlemen also wore fancy top hats and tailcoats. Their eight dragons soon landed in front of a cream-white building. The Ivory Region flag waved its pride high at the building's front. Suyin hopped off her dragon and rushed to the team on foot.
"Where are we, and who are we meeting with first?" Jay asked.
"My father, since he's the region's earl," Jungwon answered, striding down the path, "He works in our estate. It's a home but also a workplace for him to manage all his responsibilities, so people always come for work-related things."
"This is your place?? You're rich! Like, rich rich," Sunoo gasped.
"Mm, not as rich as me, though," Jay hummed. Heeseung nudged the boy for yet another blunt comment.
Suyin's curiosity sprouted when hearing about Jungwon's father's importance. His father must be a big deal. "An earl?" Suyin wondered.
Jungwon returned Suyin the glance. "An earl is like the chief. My father distributes justice and maintains peace within the region by controlling the guards and soldiers," Jungwon explained, "he also deals with financial planning. He's a busy man with daily activities."
The Ivory flag's wave caught Suyin's attention once more. "No wonder why you have so much experience," Suyin said.
"Jungwon!" A male called out. Jungwon flicked his head up and froze. A handsome man rushed over and took Jungwon by the arm, ruffling his hair.
"Ah- hyung," Jungwon whined, glaring at the man. Jungwon attempted to brush his hair by hand.
Suyin tilted her head with a faint grin as she noted resembling features of the older male. His irises symbolized dark marbles like Jungwon. His nose was recognizable as well, just a bit skinnier. Overall, he was very charming.
The man chuckled. "I missed you, you little menace. And as for the rest, you must be the Eight Warriors? It is an honor to meet you all!" He bowed. "My name is Jungkook, the eldest son of Ivory's Earl. I can take you to his office."
