Harry and I stayed up drawing a cake on the floor, it was our 11th birthday. Finally Dudleys watched chimed letting us know it was 12.
"1, 2, 3!" We said in unison blowing out the dust candles.
*THUD* Harry and I sat up
*THUD* Harry got a hold of my hand and dragged me to a hiding spot
*THUD* The door fell off, in walked in a huge man with bushy hair, he apologized. "Sorry about that!" He then put the door back where it was. "My! I haven't seen you seen you was a baby Harry but you're a bit more along than I would've expected, particularly 'round the middle! Now where's Celeste?" The giant questioned Dudley, "I-im not Harry."
Harry and I walked out of our hiding spot, Harry in-front of me as I hid behind him. "I-i am and Celeste is right here" Harry responded, I now stood next to Harry, our arms linked together. "Well, of course you are! Now I have something for you two, 'fraid I might've sat on it at some point but it'll taste fine just the same" He exclaimed, handing Harry a box. "Baked it myself words and all!"
Harry opened the box to find a small poorly made cake with frosting that read "Happee birthdae Harry and Celeste" I smiled at the giant. "Thank you!" Harry and I exclaimed "Well of course! Its not everyday yer young man and the lady turn eleven, now is it eh?" He responded sitting on the couch, then he pulled out an umbrella and lit the fireplace.
My jaw dropped. I thought magic wasn't real? Or am I just dreaming? I pinched myself, nope that hurt. Definitely not dreaming.
Harry went to put the cake down before asking the giant. "Excuse me, but who are you?" "Rubeus Hagrid" He answered, "Keeper of keys and grounds at Hogwarts. Course, you'll know all about Hogwarts." Harry and I turned to each other looking confused before shaking our heads, "Sorry, no."
"No? Blimey, Harry, Celeste, didn't you two ever wonder where your mum and dad learned it all?"
"Learnt what sir?" I asked, "Yer a witch Celeste and yer a wizard, Harry."
"I-im a what?" We asked simultaneously. "A wizard and a witch! A thumping good one at that, well once you train up a little." He answered.
"No, you've made a mistake, I cant be a-a wizard" Harry said "Yeah theres no way I'm a witch." I nodded "Im just Celeste and he's just Harry!"
"Well, just Celeste, just Harry, did you two ever make anything happen?" he asked, "Anything you couldn't explain when you were angry or scared? Hmm." He stood giving Harry and I a letter.
HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDY
"Dear Mr Potter, Ms Potter,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry"
"They will not be going, I tell you!" Vernon interrupted, "We swore when we took them in, that we'd put a stop to all this rubbish!"
"What?!" I retorted "You knew all along and never told us?!"
"Of course we knew. How could you two not be? My perfect sister being who she was. Oh, my mother and father were so proud the day she got her letter. We have a witch in the family! Isn't that wonderful! But I was the only one to see her for who she was. A freak! Then she met that Potter and had you two and I knew you two would be the same. Just as strange, just as abnormal, and then she went and got herself blown up and we got stuck with you two."
"Blown up?! You told us our parents died in a car crash!" Yelled Harry
"A car crash! Kill Lily and James potter? Its an outrage! It's a scandal!"
"They will not be going!"
Hagrid scoffed, "and i suppose a great muggle like yourself is gonna stop them, are you?"
"A muggle?" Harry asked, "Non-magic folk" replied Hagrid. "The twins had their name down ever since they were born! They're going to the finest school of witchcraft and wizardry and they'll be under the greatest headmaster Hogwarts has ever seen: Albus Dumbledore."
"I will not pay for some crackpot old fool to teach them magic tricks!"
"Never. Insult Albus Dumbledore in front of me." All of a sudden Hagrid used his umbrella to make Dudley grow a pig tail.
"Oh, um, I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone at Hogwarts about that. Strictly speaking, I'm not allowed to do magic." Hagrid said, Harry and i nodded still laughing at Dudley.
"Ooh, we're a bit behind schedule. Best be off. Unless you two rather stay, of course. Hmm?" Hagrid said walking away, Harry and I grinned and he excitedly pulled me out of the shack.
