Hey everyone! Welcome to In The Woods Somewhere (thank you to Hozier for the title) a Books of Beginning dark fairytale fantasy/horror AU. I decided to write this after reading one (1) cool horror book (My Throat An Open Grave by Tori Bovalino, I highly recommend it) and being enabled by my darling friend Katie (adranysa) because I have boundless creativity and no impulse control. I'm so glad you're here, but before you read, there are a few things you need to know:
To read this story you should have read all three of the books in the Books of Beginning trilogy. While this is an AU and only contains mild references to the original plot, you should be familiar with the characters and their dynamics going in, because I have one talent and that is taking my TBOB obsession and turning it into something wacky and fun and creepy. So do yourself a favor and experience the emotional rollercoaster that is this series, then come and experience the chaotic rollercoaster that is this family.
The content warnings for this story include; vulgarity, graphic descriptions of violence and gore, fantastical horror, missing persons, death and potential death, mature themes, Rourke, and emotional distress. There will also be romantic relationships, mainly the usual Kate x Rafe and Michael x Wilamena. Please be responsible for your own limits and kind to yourself, and do not read this story if you dislike or are mentally harmed by it.
