Sacred Love

CHAPTER 1

      Today is a special day for Diya. She has been waiting for this day for the past  five to six years. The sole reason for her happiness and excitement is that today she is joining in her dream college as a lecturer. Her family is also happy for her since she made what she wanted. They all have been very much proud of her since her childhood. Unlike many other girls of her age she is independent and wise. 

     Since Diya couldn't hold her excitement, she woke early in the morning and got ready for her new beginning. Her father, Raj Kumar who is retired bank officer is reading the daily newspaper with a hot chai , while sitting in the swing which is in their drawing room. Raj Kumar' s wife is also living with them in Delhi even though she misses her homeland. Seema, Diya' s mother is preparing the break fast for the whole family.

  " Raj... Diya.... It's time for breakfast. Come quickly. Maa come on ma , you have to take your medicines after food. So come and have dosa." Smitha  said to her mother in law

" Oh it's my favourite dosa for breakfast, Thaq you my beautiful lady"  Diya said while giving a flying kiss to her mother.

Raj also sits in the chair and served for him and his wife. And they started to eat their breakfast. " Diya, did Deepak call you yesterday?  He didn't attend my call" Raj asked to Diya. " Nope he didn't paa.. Is there anything you have to inform him ?" She asked to her father.

"No , not really. I was just asking you. By the way yesterday Vijay called me. His brother Vimal got register married to a Christian girl. They have been in a relationship for the past four years. When their father got to know about this , it created a great havoc in the family. But Vimal was not at ready to leave that girl. He adamant that he would only marry her. And his family was not ready to marry him with a Christian girl. So three days back he secretly got married to his girlfriend in a register office. Vijay was so disappointed about him ." Said Raj

"As the elder son of the family Vijay should never let Vimal and that girl to enter into their house. How dare is he to marry a girl from other religion." His mother spat after hearing about what Vimal did

" I have also said the same thing to Vijay, maa.  The boy has brought shame to the family." Raj agreed with his mother.

Diya on the other hand was happy for her cousin Vimal. She already got to know about his marriage as Vimal himself called her and informed her.  Vimal literally begged to his  family to accept his love to Anu. They were not ready to hear his pleas . They were stubborn to marry him with a girl from same caste. Apart from that they told him to forget about Anu. They think it's so easy for every one to forget about someone whom they love mostly. Both Anu and Vimal was ready to wait for their parents consent.  But Anu's parents started to accept proposals for her from their christian wellwishers. Vimal also faced lot of pressure from family to marry the girl whom the family has selected. It was then, they decided to get marry. So she is on thier side. But she can't express her  opinion on this matter, as it is a sensitive topic for her family. They are very progressive in most of the things. But inter caste marriage is a big no for them. If it was any other day, she would have conveyed her opinion, even it will eventually bring a chaos in the placid house. Since, it's her new beginning she is not ready for that.

She bid good bye to her family and took the bus to her college. She is so happy that today her life will take a new turn.
