Author's POV

It's been 2 weeks since that Saturday. Diya and Aman haven't met eachother since then. But they sometimes text each very formally like how are you?Are you doing well ? Blah blah blah...They have started following each other on insta. Aman's page is full of photos that he has taken. It has to be admitted that he is a wonderful photographer. Not a single frame is bad. On the other hand Diya's page is full of poetries, some she likes and some she wrote.

The morning sun cast a soft glow through the curtains of her room as Diya packed her bags. Her hands moved quickly, folding clothes and tucking in gifts for her dear friend, Priya, whose wedding she would soon attend in Chennai. The two had shared countless memories as roommates in their hostel days, and Diya couldn't wait to see her again. She double-checked her list: sarees, jewelry, her camera for capturing candid moments, and, of course, Priya's wedding gift-a hand-painted portrait of her and her fiancé.

Diya's appa drove her to the airport. The ride to the airport was uneventful, yet Diya's heart bubbled with excitement. She loved weddings-the colors, the laughter, the celebration of love. Stepping into the bustling airport, she dragged her suitcase behind her, mentally planning out the next few days.

But fate, as it often does, had other plans.

As Diya walked through the security gate, she caught sight of someone familiar in the waiting lounge. There, seated with a book in his hands and his suitcase parked beside him, was Aman.

"Diya?" he said, his eyebrows lifting in surprise as she approached.

"Aman! What are you doing here?"

"Work trip," he replied, standing to greet her. "And you?"

"Wedding," she said with a grin. "My friend Priya's getting married in Chennai."

"Small world," he mused. "Looks like we're on the same flight."

As the boarding announcement still had time, they settled into the lounge chairs and caught up on life. The conversation flowed effortlessly, from favorite books and the latest movies to quirks about their jobs.

Boarding time arrived quicker than either had anticipated. As luck-or destiny-would have it, their seats were beside each other on the plane. Diya took the window seat, with Aman beside her on the aisle. The middle seat remained empty, a detail that made Aman chuckle.

"Seems like we are destined to travel together today" he joked, his boyish grin infectious.

During the flight, Aman pulled out his earphones. "Want to share?" he asked, offering one side to her.

"Sure," she said, her curiosity piqued.

As they listened to each other's favorite playlists, an amusing discovery unfolded-most of their cherished songs overlapped. Aman leaned in closer, explaining why a certain track resonated with him, while Diya nodded enthusiastically, sharing her own stories. At one point, he opened his phone gallery and showed her clips of himself singing.

"You sing too?" she asked, impressed.

"Occasionally," he said with a shrug, a slight blush creeping up his neck.

"You're really good," she said earnestly.

The hours melted away, and before they knew it, the flight began its descent. When they landed, Aman insisted on helping Diya with her luggage. They walked to the cab stand together, the festive chaos of Chennai already palpable in the air.

"This is me," Diya said, as her cab pulled up.

Aman handed her the suitcase and smiled. "Have fun at the wedding."

"Good luck with your work," she replied.

For a brief moment, neither moved, the weight of parting heavy between them. Finally, Diya broke the silence. "Thanks for... everything. It's been a while since I've had this beautiful trip to Chennai. It was peaceful and perfect"

"Same here," Aman said softly.

With a final wave, Diya stepped into the cab, glancing back at him as it pulled away. Aman stood there for a moment longer, a wistful look in his eyes.

As the cab turned a corner, Diya found herself smiling. The trip had barely begun, yet it already felt like something special.

And in his own way, Aman felt the same-a sense that their story wasn't quite over yet.
