February 14th, Valentines Day

The cafeteria at Borussia Dortmund's training facilities was a sea of red and pink. Heart-shaped balloons floated near the ceiling, and garlands of paper hearts draped over the tables and walls. The usual cafeteria fare had been given a romantic twist; pasta dishes were served with heart-shaped ravioli, and the salad bar featured a variety of vibrant reds, from cherry tomatoes to beet slices.

"I can't believe they went all out like this for Valentine's Day," Chloe said, picking up a heart-shaped cookie. "It's so cute."

Gio nodded, taking a sip of his drink. "Yeah, they really outdid themselves. It's almost enough to make you forget we're here to train and not just celebrate."

"It's a nice change of pace, though." I said.

"This makes me feel more single. Gio and Chloe are not helping." Karim added. "At least the pasta is good." he laughed.

"So no date for Valentines?" I asked.

"Well, I didn't say that..." Karim responded.

"Really? Tell us more!" Chloe demanded.

"Nah, another time." Karim said.

"Booring." Gio added.

"Anyone else having something special planned for today? Except for the regular ones." Chloe asked.

"I'm spending time with Jadon today." I said.

"Again? You have been together every day for the last 5 days. Just get back together." Karim said.

"We have both agreed to be just friends. We obviously didn't work out as a couple." I explained.

"Mhm, sure..." Gio added, with a sarcastic tone.

"It's true. We're not getting back together. We are just going to watch a movie at his place." I said.

"Which movie, then?" Chloe asked.

"Why are you all so nosy? It doesn't matter." I said, crossing my arms.

"They're definitely watching Love Actually." Chloe said.

"Alright, enough about me," I said, trying to change the subject. "What about you guys? Any plans?"

Chloe and Gio exchanged a look. "We might go out for dinner," Gio said nonchalantly, but the way he looked at Chloe suggested it was something more special.

"So which movie are we watching?" I asked.

I settled onto the couch, with a table with a bowl of popcorn in front of it. Jadon's apartment was not like his old one, probably because he sold his old one. This one was just rented.

"You know which one we're watching." Jadon said, entering the room with a mug of water.

"Why water? There is soda right here." I asked.

"Can't drink soda, you know. Need to stay fit." Jadon explained, while sitting himself next to me on the couch.

"Glad I'm not an athlete, I would still eat unhealthy." I said.

Jadin grabbed the remote and put on Love Actually, the movie we used to watch all the time as a couple.

As we watched the movie, we got more and more cuddly, and snuggled up closer to eachother. It almost felt like he never left, that we were back to where we were before.
