The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. I slowly blinked awake, the soft sheets tangled around me. Beside me, Jadon lay peacefully, his features relaxed in sleep. The events of last night flooded back— the quadruple date, the tension, our whispered promises in the car. Despite the complications, being with him felt right, familiar, like coming home.

I turned towards him, watching him sleep for a moment before gently brushing a lock of hair from his forehead. He stirred slightly, his eyes fluttering open as he met my gaze.

"Morning," I whispered, a small smile tugging at my lips.

Jadon stretched lazily, his arms reaching above his head. "Morning," he murmured back, his voice husky with sleep.

"Did you sleep okay?" I asked, tracing patterns on the sheets with my finger.

"Yeah," he replied, his gaze lingering on me. "You?"

"Pretty well," I admitted, biting my lip nervously. "Last night was..."

"Intense," Jadon finished for me, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "At least it ended good."

"Yeah, it did." I smirked.

Silence settled between us, neither of us quite sure what to say next. The weight of our situation hung in the air— the secrecy, the unspoken desires, the fear of what could happen if anyone found out about us again.

"About last night," Jadon began, breaking the silence. "I'm sorry for being such an ass during the date."

I sighed softly, reaching out to touch his arm. "It's okay, Jadon. We both had to play our parts."

"Yeah," he agreed, his expression thoughtful. "But I hated seeing you with Aaron."

"And I hated seeing you with Lara," I admitted, my voice tinged with frustration.

Jadon nodded, his jaw tightening slightly. "I know. It's just... hard."

"I know," I repeated, squeezing his hand gently. "But we have to keep this under wraps. For Chloe and Gio."

Jadon sighed, his gaze drifting to the window. "Mayb we should just tell them, though. So they know."

"Maybe." I said softly, brushing a stray hair from his face. Jadon gave me a kiss.

Before we could say anything more, a loud knock echoed through the apartment. I froze, my heart skipping a beat as I glanced towards the door. Jadon's eyes widened, realizing the predicament we were in.

"Who's that?" he whispered urgently, sitting up in bed.

"It's Chloe," I murmured, panic rising in my chest. "We always have breakfast together on Mondays, remember?"

Jadon swore under his breath, throwing the covers off as he scrambled out of bed. "I need to hide."

I nodded frantically, my mind racing for a solution. "Quick, the closet!"

Jadon dashed towards the closet just as another knock sounded on the door, louder this time. I hurriedly grabbed a robe and threw it on, trying to compose myself as I rushed to answer.

"Coming!" I called out, praying Chloe wouldn't notice anything amiss.

I opened the door with a bright smile, doing my best to hide the panic beneath the surface. "Chloe! Hi, come on in."

Chloe greeted me with a hug, her bright eyes scanning the room curiously. "Morning! I brought pastries from Cafe Paris."

"Oh, thank you," I said, ushering her inside quickly. "Let's go to the kitchen."
