False Start

Part two of Episode One

a/n: not edited, some cursing some angst, a bit of fluff. 

The next morning you were frantically biking to school, pissed off at Jonathon that he ditched you again. He's your ride every morning, or everywhere really because Nancy doesn't have her license yet so Mrs Wheeler takes her to school and Barb lives on the other side of town so carpooling was out of the question. This is the second time that Jonathon ditched you, you are going to have to have a chat with him later on about this, Dustin already left for school so you're thankful he doesn't see you all sweaty and gross as you race to school.

It's not that you are pissed that Jonathon ditched you again it's because he didn't even have the nerve to call you ahead of time to let you know that he is unable to take you to school today. Quickly looking at your watch you only have ten minutes left before the homeroom bell rings and your sweater clings to you uncomfortably as you continue to sweat.

Thankfully you made to school with a few minutes to spare, so you quickly make your way to your locker putting the books away that you don't need and getting the books that you do need for first and second period as you quickly looked at yourself in the mirror in your locker to make sure you are somewhat presentable you heard some giggling a few lockers down Nancy Wheeler and Barb Holland of course with Steve Harrington you saw Nancy snatching some note cards from his hand and Barb just shaking her head while rolling her eyes. You don't know what has gotten into Nancy lately but you certainly do hope it is a phase because you and Barb can not stand Steve at all and his posse Tommy and Carol he has changed so much with hanging out with them it makes you wonder what Nancy thinks of them and if she really considers them her new friends also giving that she is in with Steve and his posse.

Finishing up with adding a bit of lipstick your mother gave you and quickly adding some deodorant and perfume to hopefully get rid of the sweat smell you have developed from riding your bike to school, closing your locker and grabbing your books and back pack you begrudgingly made your down to where your two other best friends are. You pass Jonathon's locker still haven't seen him in sight sighing to yourself making a mental note to go to his house after school.

Stacy!! Barbera said, happy to see you. Hey barb, Hey Nance! You said to them, Steve you gave a curt nod to. Hey Henderson Steve said, and went back to talking to Nancy about some party that he and tommy and carol went to the other weekend. So Barb you asked, have you seen Jonathon at all this morning? No i have not he didn't come in with you? Barb asked a little concerned since you and Jonathon are always at the hip. Ugh No you said as you hugged your books a bit closer i am assuming he must have overslept now because he did take the night shift at the movie theater last night. Nancy then turned around and said to you guys, pulling you away a bit from the group, "Im gonna be a bit late to homeroom Steve wants to go the library for a bit can you let Mrs Cooper know i'll be late." You and barb both sighed, "Nance you said to her, this isn't you? Skipping homeroom, to go make out with Steve?"

"Your better then this Nancy" barb said. Nancy looked a bit upset looking behind her and smiling a bit guys come on he's not as bad as you both assume he is, i can change him, Nancy said.

Just then the bell rang, barb lets go you grabbed your best friends shoulder, Nancy you do whatever you want but just this once i am telling Mr Cooper that you will be late, im not making this a trend for you. Moving her books to her other hand Nancy gave Stacey a hugh thank you so much Stacey I owe you and Barb sleepover my house this weekend just us girls i promise!! As Nancy went running back to Steve he grabbed her books and threw his hand over her shoulders winked at you two, groaning you and barb just began walking to Mrs Cooper homeroom

Well have her back in time for first period nerds both Tommy and Carol laughing at you and Barb, you gave them the middle finger, already pissed off at Nancy and Jonathon because he is still not here you already wanted to go home and get today over with.
