The morning sunlight gently seeped into the room, casting a warm glow on the sleeping figures of Aira and Reyaansh. Aira stirred first, feeling the comforting weight of Reyaansh's arm draped over her.
She smiled softly, savoring the tranquility of the moment before the day's bustle began. Slowly, she turned to face him, her fingers lightly tracing the contours of his face. As if sensing her touch, Reyaansh's eyes fluttered open, a lazy smile spreading across his lips.
"Good morning," he murmured, his voice still heavy with sleep.
"Good morning," she replied, her voice soft and loving.
They lay there for a few more minutes, exchanging touches and words that spoke of their deep bond and love for each other.
Eventually, the reality of the day ahead pulled them from their cocoon of warmth. Aira moved to the bathroom first, and soon, the sound of running water filled the room.
Reyaansh stretched and got up, following her with a sleepy but affectionate expression.
Together, they went through the morning routine, helping each other with little touches here and there—Reyaansh tying the strings of her blouse, Aira adjusting his tie, their hands brushing against each other in an unspoken symphony of companionship.
As they were about to head downstairs, Reyaansh paused, turning Aira towards him.
He reached for the small vermillion box on the dresser and gently applied sindoor to her hair partition. Aira closed her eyes, feeling the sacredness of the moment. He then picked up her nuptial chain, fastening it around her neck with the same tenderness.
She opened her eyes, meeting his gaze, which was filled with love and a silent promise of forever.
Hand in hand, they descended the lavish staircase of their home. The grand chandelier above cast sparkling lights, adding to the elegance of the moment. As they reached the bottom, Aira's eyes fell on her family gathered around the dining table.
Her heart swelled with joy at the sight of Viraj, who was recovering well from his accident, engaging in cheerful conversation while enjoying breakfast.
"Aira, Reyaansh, come join us!" called out her mother, her voice filled with warmth and happiness.
They walked towards the table, taking their seats at the head. Aira felt a deep sense of contentment seeing her family happy and together.
The meal was filled with laughter and chatter, a perfect start to the day. However, the serenity was interrupted when Veer received a phone call. He excused himself to answer it, stepping away from the table.
Aira noticed the shift in Veer's expression as he returned. "Bhai, we need to go to London today itself. There's an emergency," he announced, his tone urgent.
Reyaansh nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Our private jet is currently with some ministry officials. We'll have to take the chopper to get there," he said, his voice steady and calm.
Aira felt a pang of disappointment. The thought of Reyaansh having to leave her so suddenly left her feeling uneasy. She masked her feelings with a small smile, not wanting to add to the stress of the moment.
Breakfast continued, but Aira's mind was elsewhere. She quietly excused herself to pack Reyaansh's bag for the trip. In their bedroom, she methodically gathered his clothes and essentials, her heart heavy. She was lost in her thoughts when she felt Reyaansh's arms wrap around her from behind.
"Naraz ho?" he asked, his voice gentle and understanding.
"Nahi, bus ek wada chahiye," she replied, turning to face him.
"Jo hukum, saraakhon par. Kya chahiye tumhe?" he asked, a playful yet serious glint in his eyes.
She placed her hands on his chest, looking up at him. "Return back to me in proper shape, safe and sound, asap," she said, her voice firm but filled with love.
Reyaansh smiled, giving her a mock salute. "Yes, ma'am," he said, his tone light, trying to ease her worries.
A few hours later, it was time for him to leave. Aira stood by the door, watching as Reyaansh prepared to board the chopper. He turned back, walking towards her and cupping her face in his hands. He kissed her deeply, then placed a gentle peck on her forehead.
"I'll be back soon," he promised, his eyes locked onto hers.
As he turned to leave, Aira's saree got caught in his watch. They both looked down at it, a moment of stillness between them. Reyaansh gently tugged at the fabric, freeing it. Aira felt a wave of unease but forced a smile, waving at her husband as he boarded the car that would drive them to their chopper.
Watching the car drove off, Aira stood there, her heart filled with a mixture of love and worry. She prayed silently for his safe return, holding onto the promise he made to her. As the car disappeared into the view in front of her, she turned back to the house, ready to face the day with hope and determination, awaiting the moment her beloved would come back to her.
"Bhabhi let's go inside!" Ishu said as she nodded and went inside the mansion.
