The moments after the news felt like an eternity. All the family members were crying badly, the sorrow heavy and palpable. I had lost all my senses, my mind unable to process the magnitude of the loss. I rested my head on Ishika's shoulder, my body limp and lifeless, like a corpse. The world around me had faded into a blur of grief and despair.
Reyaansh's father was on the phone, trying to confirm the devastating news, but no confirmation came. Every minute stretched into an agonizing hour, and the mansion was filled with the sound of sobs and weeping. Six hours had passed since we heard the news, and in all that time, not a single word was spoken. We were all trapped in our own private hell, consumed by the loss of Reyaansh.
It was late at night, almost 3 o'clock, when we heard the sound of a car pulling up outside the mansion. The noise broke through the heavy silence, and everyone was instantly alerted. But none of us had the strength to get up. We remained where we were, clinging to the hope of a miracle, praying for something—anything—that would change the unbearable reality we faced.
The seconds ticked by, each one echoing in the stillness of the night. Suddenly, the door of the mansion creaked open. Every head turned toward the entrance, hearts pounding with a mix of dread and desperate hope.
There, in the doorway, stood Reyaansh Singh Rathore. He was covered in wounds, his clothes torn and bloodstained, but he was alive. He was alive!
For a moment, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My heart skipped a beat, and I blinked, thinking it was a cruel illusion. But it wasn't. It was him. It was really him.
"Reyaansh!" I screamed, my voice breaking through the heavy silence. My body sprang to life, and I rushed toward him, my legs trembling with both fear and relief. I threw myself into his arms, feeling the warmth of his body, the solidness of his presence. He was here. He was real.
He wrapped his arms around me, holding me tight.
"Jaan," he whispered, his voice weak but filled with love. "I'm here. I'm okay."
Tears streamed down my face, and I clung to him, afraid to let go, afraid that he might disappear again. "
I thought I lost you," I sobbed, my voice muffled against his chest. "I thought you were gone forever."
"I'm here," he repeated, his voice soothing, though I could hear the pain in it. "I'm here, love. I promised I would come back to you."
The rest of the family gathered around us, their tears now mixed with cries of joy and relief. Swarna, his mother, gently touched his face, her hands shaking.
"Reyaansh, you're alive. Thank God, you're alive."
Reyaansh's father, who had been so strong throughout the ordeal, let out a sob, his composure breaking.
"My son," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "You're back."
Reet and Ishika were crying, their faces wet with tears as they hugged Reyaansh, careful not to hurt him.
"We were so scared," Ishika said, her voice trembling. "We thought we lost you bhai."
Reyaansh winced in pain but managed a weak smile.
"I had to come back. I had to come back to my family."
The room, which had been a place of sorrow and despair, was now filled with the overwhelming emotion of a miracle realized. I held onto Reyaansh, feeling his heartbeat against mine, the proof that he was truly alive.
We helped him to the sofa, where he sat down, his body exhausted and battered. I knelt beside him, my hand holding his, afraid to let go.
"What happened?" I asked, my voice still shaky. "How did you survive?"
Reyaansh took a deep breath, wincing as he did. "The chopper lost control, just like they said. Veer and I... we tried everything to stabilize it, but nothing worked. When we realized we were going to crash, we aimed for a clearing. We hit the ground hard. Veer managed to get out, and he pulled me out before the chopper exploded. We were both hurt, but we were alive."
"Where's Veer?" Swarna asked, her eyes wide with concern.
"He... he stayed back to get help. I insisted on coming back to you all as soon as I could," Reyaansh explained, his voice growing fainter with each word.
"I couldn't let you all think I was gone." He said looking at me seeing me crying.
My tears flowed freely, my heart swelling with love and relief.
"You're a fighter, Reyaansh. You always have been." His dad said to him.
He gave me a small smile, his eyes filled with the same love I felt for him. "I had to come back to my Aira. She is my strength , my everything. "
We sat there, surrounded by our family, the relief and joy palpable. The night, which had seemed so dark and endless, was now filled with hope. Reyaansh was back, and the nightmare was over.
As the first light of dawn began to break through the windows, I looked at Reyaansh, my heart overflowing with gratitude. We had faced the worst and come through it. Together, we would face whatever challenges lay ahead.
Reyaansh reached out and wiped a tear from my cheek.
"I love you, Jaan" he said softly. "More than anything in this world."
"I love you more than anything Ansh." I whispered, my voice thick with emotion. "And I will always, always be by your side."
In that moment, surrounded by the love and support of our family, I knew that no matter what happened, we would get through it together. Reyaansh was my everything, and as long as we had each other, we could face anything. The nightmare had ended, and a new chapter of our life had begun, filled with hope, love, and the strength of our unbreakable bond.
