i'm picking up plates when i hear the name belonging to a surprise voice. i turn around only to see the person who i was least expecting standing right in front of me.

"june-nim?"

"i need to talk to you, jisung," she says, with a very serious face.

i look around and take in my surroundings. "i- i have work," i tell her, gesturing to the table in front of me where there are empty plates that need to be picked up.

"okay, what time are you off?"

"my breaks in a few minutes. can you wait?" she's lucky she came at a right time.

"yeah, of course." i can't help but notice the way she sounds. guilty, perhaps?

why is she here though? i can't recall anything that i've done to her seeing as it's been a month already since i've got fired from my job...wait, does she know about minho and i? did she...find out?

is she going to ask me to stop seeing him?

i shunned off the thoughts and instead focus on what i'm doing and forget wondering why june is here. minho never told me about expecting a visit from his mom...does he even know she's here?

june is sitting on an empty table with a glass of cold water in front of her when i make my way towards her. she's looking out the window next to her, lost in deep thought. i take a seat across from her and clear my throat loudly to grab her attention. 

"what did you want to talk about?" i ask her, slowly meeting her gaze awkwardly. 

"yes," she says, "um...i'm really sorry for my rude behavior the last time we spoke," she says. "i was completely unkind for not hearing your end of thoughts and i rushed to a conclusion that seemed to be not a good idea.." my movement freezes when i realize where she's going with this.

she looks me in the eyes and has a sympathetic smile on her face when she says, "it was wrong of me to fire you without any further explanation, and i would like it if you...would reconsider being hana's baby sitter again.." 

i'm speechless. completely taken aback. i mean, it's not like i was expecting this, and i only comprehended the situation just seconds ago so, i'm pretty shocked. i'm grateful for the offer, but i do still want to know why she suddenly wants me to return after clearly stating she wanted me nowhere near her house after the incident. 

"thank you but...why have you thought this over?" i can't help but question. 

june sighs longingly. "well, to put in short, hana is behaving rather rude and bratty to the sitters i have hired...and in simple words, hana wants you to be her only baby sitter. she likes you more than i thought she would...also, my son seems to be ignoring me and won't speak to us unless i rehired you...it seems like you've had a huge impact on my family." 

i stare at her with nothing but blankness, wondering whether or not this is entirely true. even if it is, does june even want me to part of their lives? what if i'm just messing them up? how can i be so important to them that their own mother has to reconsider hiring me back? it's not like i had any idea this would happen...i wouldn't want to upset june more than i already have. 

i hesitate whether or not to turn down the offer. 

have i done something to make this family not speak to each other? is this all my...
