Morning without coffee

Penny grumbled as she got out of bed. She'd stayed up too late in the lab last night. She and Tony were jamming out while working on their respective projects. After her hangover died down, she wanted to work on her flying board project. She couldn't figure out the best way to power it. Either the power sources she's tried weren't powerful enough, or something was up with the wiring.

Penny yawned as she stretched. She threw on a hoodie over her tank top before heading to the kitchen. She walked into the kitchen and saw Steve and Tony talking. A few others, Sam, Bucky, and Natasha were already at the table eating. She walked over, sitting on the stool by the counter sleepily.

"Coffee pleeease," she yawned.

"Nope," Tony said. "No coffee this week, remember?"

Penny groaned/whined. "Noooooooo... I need caffeine!"

"Too bad," Steve said. "This is your punishment for drinking."

Penny grumbled, resting her face in her arms.

"Don't forget you're coming with us on our run today," Steve added. "What do you want for breakfast?"

"'M not hungry," Penny muttered and yawned.

Steve grabbed an apple and set it next to Penny. "Just in case."

It wasn't long until Penny was in that 'asleep-but-aware-of-what's-going-on-around-you' state. More people made their way in and out of the room. Tony and Steve were quietly chatting about something. Sam left to get ready for the run. Bucky went to the living room area to wait. It wouldn't be long before Steve told Penny to go get ready.

Peter came down the stairs ready for school. Ugh, Mondays. He set his bag on the counter and Steve asked what he wanted. He sat down next to Penny and Steve passed him a bowl of his favorite cereal. Peter started eating. He then nudged Penny.

Penny grumbled. "I need caffeine."

Peter laughed a little. Penny glared at him. He gave her a shy smile. She looked away and kinda stared at a wall for a moment. Peter nudged her and whispered so only she could hear. "Hey, have you taken your meds yet?"

Penny shook her head no. "I have to take them with food. I'll have them after I eat breakfast," she muttered back.

"Okay," Peter nodded. "You just seem... off at the moment."

"Just tired," Penny said.

Peter nodded again. "Yeah, you were still up when I got back from patrol."

"Pete, Happy's outside," Tony said.

"Oh, thanks, D-Mr. Stark," Peter said, clearing his throat. He quickly finished his cereal and picked up his bag. "Bye!" he waved to everyone and ran off to the elevator.

Steve turned to Penny. "It's almost time to leave. Are you sure you don't want breakfast before getting ready?"

Penny nodded. "Yeah. Still not hungry." She got up. "I'm gonna go get ready." She went up to her and Peter's room. She switched her pj-pants with leggings. She decided to keep her hoodie. After putting on some high tops, she grabbed her phone off the charger, putting it in her pocket, then went back downstairs.

Time Skip

Penny walked along the path of the park. Steve, Bucky, and Sam were all running, while she walked. She's not a running person. She was texting Pietro as she walked. He and Wanda were doing their homeschool thing.

"Don't say it," Sam said.

"On your left," Steve said.

Penny snickered a little. Bucky slowed down to a walk next to her.

"Not much of a runner, huh?" Bucky asked.

"Yeah no," Penny said. "I only have so much running I can do in my lifetime, so I'm saving it up for life-or-death situations."

Bucky nodded with a slight smile. "I see... who are you texting?"

"Pietro. He's bored in 'class'," Penny said. "I've seen Clint's little 'class' and it's pretty boring."

After a couple minutes of random chatter, Bucky went back to running. Penny continued walking. It was like 30 minutes later that they went back to the tower. Penny went back down to the lab planning to work more on her project. Tony was already down there.
