For some reason the "important notes" keeps getting updated even though I didn't even touch it...

Anyway, do remember to vote and comment if you find this chapter at least, good in some way. They help feel this book is appreciated (yes, its sentient)

It's 3:16 AM. Everyone in the Ferrari team was dozy and barely had a thought process in mind to keep them in check. The team principal, Neuvilette, was the only one who didn't have any heavy eyelids, at least that was what seemed to be the case. He was wide awake and looking through the window. Next to him is the 26-year-old Furina de Magnus Fontaińe, peacefully sleeping on the seat as the plane they're all riding to Liyue is taking flight. Business class, as usual.

Neuvillette was thinking. He feels sorry for not meeting the new driver and had the strategist engineer to tour them around instead of him, the "leader" of the team. It's a shame, really. Neuvillette would have preferred to meet them if it wasn't for attending a meeting with one of the sponsors who was upset over the sudden replacement of the driver, Thoma.

He understands the frustration the sponsor felt. The owner, Dainsleif, has been nagging him for the whole offseason to change driver seats. He doesn't understand why that man was so persistent on having Thoma kicked off for a driver that doesn't even have half a decade of driving experience in a circuit. The only thing Neuvillette is impressed with is the fact that the driver won all races on a podium and won a title just a year in Formula 3 and Formula 2. It's a performance that screams "sensational". But still, performance doesn't matter, it's experience.

He's sure there's other reasons why Dainsleif wanted that driver in Ferrari's grid. Neuvilette would be more than welcome to have ___ before any other teams does but personally for him, it's too early.

Sigh, If it wasn't for Furina's old teammate, Kamisato Ayato quitting 2 years ago and getting Thoma to take the seat last season, Neuvilette wouldn't be so immersed in this problem.

... Not like Red Bull did the same thing when they seated the Knave in their car the moment she won Formula 2's championship in the past. But alas, Dainsleif decided to use the "I'm the CEO" card and as a result, Thoma's seat was taken by ___ regardless of Neuvilette's concerns. He hope in Celestia it won't cause any despicable rumors regarding the unanticipated driver change.

But knowing how meddlesome the press and some fans are... Neuvillette can only bare a sigh.

All that thinking made the middle-age man rub his temple. He slides the window's blinds down, not wanting to observe the clouds in the night sky anymore. Neuvillette shifts in his seat, wanting to find a comfortable position before he shuts his eyes for the night only to hear the lady next to him speak up.

"You awake?"

Neuvillette broodingly nodded his head. Rest can come later. "Yes, Furina."

"Great, that's good." Furina perks up from her seat, her words trailing off to small yawn muffled against the back of her hand. She flicks away the small tears prickling her eyes with a finger before looking at Neuvillette. Her eyes were wide open, Neuvillette can envision a energetic puppy in her place right now.

Still, Neuvillette arched his brow at the young woman's behavior. She was tucked in her seat covered in a thick blanket just a moment ago after all. "I thought you were sleeping?"

"Tried to. I couldn't." Furina answers before breathing out heavily. "Man, the FIA abruptly moving race weekend to this week messed everyone up."

The tired look on her face quickly faded with a smile, "Good thing I got enough rest yesterday."
