Back from my break, separating the gp part to this one since I nearly broke the 1 ch per week schedule.

Weak chapter ngl, focused heavier on the gp race part and charac interactions 😞

Nascar is starting to pull me in, I have to focus💆‍♀️

Fours years has passed before dad started talking to me, outside of the topic of the sculptures he made.

It felt new to me, I couldn't get used to it yet. So most of our... Well, it can't be properly called a "conversation" when it's mostly him just talking.

He's struggling, I feel guilty for it. Especially when I don't give a proper reply to his words. I only listened to him and gave small hums.

It took a lot of time for me to think of what to say. I always watched in tv that it's important to think before saying anything. Am in the wrong for that?

It was when he showed me another one of his statues that we had a proper conversation for once.

"What car is that?"

He holds out a small miniature sculpture in his hand, a car. "... It's a Toyota ae86, __. Your mom and I saved up money to buy it."

"... Where is the car?" I ask, and a flash of melancholy glazed his eyes for a moment.

"It's just at the parking lot, I haven't drove it in a while." Dad answered.

Makes sense. He hasn't left the apartment.

"What's your dream car?" I then asked.

"There's many cars out there, right?"

He stops to think for a moment. I just stared up to him, waiting for an answer. "Well... If I have to choose..."

He smiled, knowing what he'll say is out of his reach. "Hm... A Porsche 918 would be nice. Your mom loved that car."

There's the format again. He'd always say stuff that always has something to do with mom. It's sounds lovely but, after hearing it over and over again in this household, it started to sound like obsession in my ears.

I gave a nod to his answer. That was the end of our conversation.

It's Saturday, weather being surprisingly more sunny than yesterday. The free practice went on first thing in the morning as usual, nothing remotely exciting or unusual happened at the track. The car was functioning properly now and I was fortunately able to complete the whole 56 laps with no accidents.

Right, Neuvillette had a talk with Sterling. I think he went off and sent a notice to the FIA to help him find a new chief mechanic to take over the now empty spot. The federation was quick with their seats and found a new one for the team,I think they arrived this morning, I hadn't met them. I would like to, heard she immediately did some changes in the car, spotted a few small screws loose and torque too tight. Overall, did a good job the first moment they arrived at the garage.

It was now closing to afternoon, where the first qualifying in the season will commence. Navia, Furina, and I are now walking at the paddock heading to the cafeteria.

Well, we were supposed to be at the cafeteria minutes ago if it weren't for one reluctant driver.

So here I am, following behind a blonde that's carrying a woman on her hands like one would do to a bratty cat while shielding both of them from Liyue's sudden strike of sunny weather with an umbrella big enough to fit 2. Said "cat" was frantically trying to get herself off from the vice hold on her.
