I wanna preface and say at the end the character he is speaking to is not my OC Ivy and is a character from the original series. All will be revealed in due time  ◡̈.  Also here's where some of the actual serious aspect comes in.

"Look, Friday," Susan began, dragging a straw along the rim of her drink and looking at her with phlegmatic eyes. "No one's telling you to sleep with him."

Saturdays were the one day of the week Friday and her friends committed to going out after her move to the city. They all had their jobs, so throughout the week was difficult.

Susan was too busy at the botanic park she worked out. She loved to rave about flowers and plants despite knowing no one else really understood half of the things she said. Friday would be the only one with an actual grasp of the conversation when Susan began to delve into the biological aspects and chemistry of it all. Melanie was a writer, so she was often snug in her bed tapping away at her laptop, but recently she had been going to lots of book signings. She was also a model, typically commercial considering the runway was far too much work. Her other friend, Wai-Yi Yap, was a fashion designer, meaning most of the time she was hardly in the country. Instead, she'd gallivanted around Milan and Seoul, cutting and stitching fabric to her heart's content.

Normally, Friday's father's best friend, her 'Uncle' Bernie, would look after Cygnus for the day, but this Saturday he went over to Trea's home to play with her children. Bernie was a detective based in the city, so he often came around.

Of course, Friday got an earful from Cygnus about forgetting to take him to the pet shop yesterday, so they did that first. Friday had been set on not giving in. No matter how much Cygnus pouted and pleaded, she would not be getting him a pet.

They left the store with a small, blonde kitten Cygnus decided to name Wednesday.

"Please, Mama!" he exclaimed with a little gasp after seeing it, elongating his words. The boy ran to a small glass enclosure. "Please!"

"Who will look after it, honey?" Friday had said with a sigh, she hated disappointing him. She looked "A kitten is a lot of work."

"But... but I read that cats are in... inde..." he began, struggling to pronounce the word

"Independant?" she offered.

"Yeah! I read that cats are that after six months, Mama!"

"Darling, do you even know how long a month is?"

Cygnus crossed his arms and pointed at the enclosure the kitten was in.

Friday frowned and looked at the kitten. It really was adorable. A small thing it was, with big blue eyes and orangish blonde fur. There was a small card with the information. The kitten was a male, still unnamed and only seven months old.

"I guess you're right," she muttered.

The kitten pawed its way over to them. He peered through the glass, tilting his head and looking at the two with round blue eyes. A worker came over and asked if they wanted to have a play with it. Before Friday could say no, Cygnus was already looking up at her with his big brown eyes and pouting. The worker took the kitten out of its enclosure and gently handed it to Cygnus. The boy took great care in holding the small thing gently.

"Mama!" Cygnus laughed, holding up the kitten to her. "Look!"

Friday sighed, she scratched behind the kitten's ear and already started making her way to the worker, asking if they could adopt the kitten.
