Chapter 2: The problem

"Ok, my problem has to do with Lewis. He's been having problems in his personal life lately and his focus on the track isn't good, he makes a lot of mistakes. I don't know if you heard the rumors about his private life on the media..."

"You have to talk with him about that"

"You are right, but it's not easy"

"Why?"

"It's hard for him to open up with me"

His eyes light up and look at you.

"But i think that you will make him talk, you are less intimidating than me"

"How? He doesn't know me"

He looks at you with determination in his eyes, making you say "ok, i will try"

"I am glad that you do it, thanks for the help"

Both get up and go to Lewis' training room.

As you reach the door you say "can you enter with me? I am a bit shy"

"Of course" he says while is knocking "but you have to be gentle with him"

"I am always gentle"

Lewis' voice interrupts your talk from the inside of the room.

"Who is knocking?"

"It's me, Toto, and a person that you have to know"

"Oh, you can come in"

Both walk inside and see Lewis sitting alone on the bench, concentrated but frustrated; he seems surprised that you are a girl, but then he looks directly to his team principal.

"She is the new social media manager, but don't worry she doesn't want to do content now" says Toto.

"Hi, i am y/n. Nice to meet you"

"Y/n... Ok... I see..." says Lewis.

"She only want to have a chat with you" says Toto.

"A chat? Ok. About what?"

"About how are you feeling; i understand that there is something wrong but you don't want to tell me what, so i think that talking with a girl will be more easy for you and less intimidating"

Lewis looks surprise.

"Feeling? I don't have time for this... I don't need a therapist"

"Your angry seems make you less good on track, i don't think that you want this" you say.

Lewis looks at you, feeling insulted for your comment.

"You don't understan anything and what i do on track is only my business"

"I don't think so Lewis" says Toto "please help us to understand your problem, we want only the best for you"

Lewis, after staying in silence for a moment, looks at you and says "do you really want to help me or is my boss forcing you to do that?"

"I really want to help you, and Toto too"

"Ok... Sit next to me" says Lewis.

You sit on the bench near him; Toto prefers to stay up near the door, giving you approving looks.

"What's the problem Lewis?"

"My personal life is a mess, a nightmare... It makes me unable to concentrate on the track..."

"Tell me more"

"I don't know where to start because the situation is complicated"

"Please Lewis, tell me all"

"It's hard..." and his eyes become full off pain.

You give a look at Toto and he responds at it with only his eyes, that say that you have to go on.

"Lewis come on, tell me what's the problem" you pray.

"A woman..."

"Who is she?"

"My girlfriend... To be honest my ex-girlfriend... We broke up a couple months ago but she doesn't want to left me..."

"You broke up with her but she doesn't accept it, i see"

Lewis looks at you quite depressed.

"Lewis this is not healthy for you, you have to tell her that it's really over"

"I know. I told her that a lot of times but she doesn't want to accept it. The worst of all is that she is stalking me..."

"Stalking you?"

Now you are really worried about him.

"Yes... Seems that she always know where i am and with who i am..."

You give a worried look to Toto, while saying "we have to help him right now"

Toto, understanding your preoccupation, says "of course, what can we do?"

You think a moment before turning your eyes to Lewis.

"I know that it's difficult but you have to call the police and tell what is she doing to you"

Lewis looks at you, you can see that he is shocked.

"I know that it's the right thing to do... But i can't..."

You take your phone out your pocket to call the police, but Toto walks toward you saying "i am the only one that have to do that call, don't worry"

Meanwhile the team principal is talking with the police, you put an arm on Lewis shoulders and he rests his head on your.

After a while, Toto ends the call and says "the policeman suggested me to do a restriction order against her and i did it, now you can live more relaxed"

Lewis looks relieved and gives you a big hug.

Toto appreciates that view, with a smile on his face, and says "Lewis, now you don't have any apologies. You have to win the next gran prix"

The driver gratefully looks at him; meanwhile you stop hugging him and walk toward the team principal.

"Sure Toto, and i hope that y/n will be present at it"

"She'll be there, but now you have to train. Bye champion"

After that answer, the boss puts an hand behind your back making you walk outside the room with him.

"See Toto? I fixed the situation"

"Amazing job!" he says, with a big smile on his face.

"I have to do something else?"

"No, it's quite late and it's time to go home. See you tomorrow".
