Chapter 5: Surprise

Today Toto and you celebrate your first year together and the red heart drawn in today's box of the Bott-ass calendar, that you have hanging next to your bed, also reminds you of this, even if it was impossible to forget; since you think that he will be busy all day preparing for the next grand prix, you decide to put on your usual uniform and head to work quite chill.

When you arrive in the paddock you notice that all the people look at you smiling as you pass by; you decide not to pay attention to them, thinking that maybe they are happy for the upcoming race weekend, but when you reach the Mercedes area everything gets much stranger: no one greets you and all the mechanics and engineers are working in silence.

You immediately think that something serious has happened but, without giving you time to think, Carmen, George's girlfriend, approaches you telling you that Toto is waiting for you in his office.

Quite scared you head towards the office and knock on the door.

"Come in"

You enter and... Oh my God!

The office was all decorated with green festoons and balloons, the table was covered with a white tablecloth and laden with a Ferrari Trento champagne and a small heart-shaped red velvet cake, on the sofa there was a large gift wrapped with a big green bow and, last but not least, Toto was sitting on his desk chair looking your shocked face.

"Surprise? Although I think that Lewis has already spoiled something to you..." he says, while coming to give you a strong hug.

"Yes, but I thought you'd organize something after work. We have to prepare the team for the Bahrain Grand Prix, there's no time to waste"

"You are more important" he say, looking into your eyes and leaning in for a kiss.

However he hears an <aww> shouted by Lewis, who was walking around the offices looking for his manager, that distracted him from the situation; this makes him telling <fuck you>, using only his lips, to the driver and closing the door behind you before sinking into a passionate kiss with you.

You celebrate for hours and you spend almost all of them on his laps chatting about your future, risking falling over several times due to the desk chair with wheels.

"So... Since we are already on the topic, i think that it's time that you open the package on the couch"

You get up and go to unwrap it, lefting him behind your back.

You are quite surprised when you see, inside the box, the original blue and black helmet worn by Bottas in Alfa Romeo in 2023; a smile escapes from your lips thinking that he, maybe, has finally decided to stop making fun of your favorite driver.

Then you burst out laughing when you notice that, inside the helmet, there is a little Moomin but, like the spring weather, the peaceful feeling doesn't last long because your expression changes again when you notice that there is a set of keys attached to the plush.

After putting the helmet on (you tried not to put it on but you wanted to try it so much), you head towards Toto with keys and the plush in your hands. 

"What are they?"

"Keys"

"Oh thanks, I thought that they were bananas"

The man laughs but, trying to remain serious, he approaches you, taking off your helmet, saying "they are the keys of our house"
