"Lily, you love me! You wouldn't kill me!"
Lily glanced down with disgust as Atticus looked up at her with tears welling in his eyes.
"Atticus fucking Stone, are you still conscious?", Lily pressed her finger into the wound left by the piece of metal Atticus pulled from his wing. He screamed loudly, and attempted to crawl away from her. She watched him crawl for a few seconds, and then grabbed his leg and pulled him back.
"Okay, you said you wanted to hurt him. He's hurt, see? He can't even walk, he's hurt.", pleaded Bianca, watching as Lily sat on his back and ran her fingers through his hair. She pulled a handful of dark curls, and he whimpered slightly. She then got close to his ear and whispered blankly, "You're nothing. You are no one to me. You cheat, you lie, you hurt. You don't even deserve the wings on your back."
He face-planted the grass again as she let go of his hair and stood over him once more.
He raised his head to speak once more. With a raspy voice and mud on his tongue, he shouted, "You left! You were gone for months! What were you doing huh?", he coughed, choking on blood, "You think I don't know that you're fucking Bellamy or whatever demon, dude-bro is down in the Underworld showing you attention?!", he prepared for the impact of Lily's right foot, which knocked the wind from his chest before he could finish his sentence.
"Really Atty? Bellamy? You think I'm fucking Bellamy? News flash, I have the rest of my life to fuck Bellamy, why the fuck would I do it while I'm actively fighting against marrying him! for you! God you're fucking dense! If anything, you have more to worry about when it comes to Bianca than Bell!", she furrowed her brow and tilted her head, "Are you forgetting that I made an exception for you?" She laughed hysterically, and Bianca stared at her speechless.
Lily walked circles around Atticus, "So who else are you fucking besides Layla, Atticus? Is it Zaria? Did her daddy's cookies get you that hard, huh?"
"She's one of my best friends! No matter what you think, I know that for a fact. She is my family, my only family except for her dad. You know that, Lily, what's gotten into you?!", he responded, still able to speak, surprisingly.
"Well, why would I believe shit you have to say? You're a liar, you lied to my fucking face multiple times. I see the way you look at her, you don't look at family that way Atty. What the fuck is your goal anyway? You want me as your girlfriend, you want Zaria as your wife, and you want slutty fucking Layla as your fuck-buddy?"
"That's not true. I want me and you! I always did! You started disappearing for such long periods, I started to get insecure! I just wanted you here, and you never were when I needed you. You weren't even here for my moms burial!", he said, finally attempting to stand on two feet. He swayed heavily and struggled to keep his balance, "Where were you, then? If you say you always left because of the weight of my reputation, then why did it start so early? Why weren't you at least there for the big things?"
"Atticus, it was only a few months into our relationship...I didn't know how...how to be there for you.", she stuttered. She was surprised by Atticus's sudden vulnerability. She had been on a war path this whole time, but for a split second everything else but that very conversation felt irrelevant almost. She continued, "You know that your dad fucking hates demon-kind, he wouldn't have even allowed me to be there. Honestly, I don't think I wanted to be either. It's not that I didn't want to be there for you, I just didn't want to hold you down or start problems on a day that I was supposed to be your biggest pillar.", she said, calming down a bit. Bianca watched alertly for Lily to strike again, but she remained unprovoked.
"What about the time Damien almost died trying to fly from the tower? He broke almost every bone in his body trying to prove himself, and I was so scared! Where were you? Huh? What important things needed taking care of in the Underworld?", he asked. The force of his own voice nearly knocked him off his feet as he still struggled to stay vertical.
"I was-away. That time it was business...I'm the next ruler of the Underworld...I have to be away sometimes.", she said in a flimsy defense.
"Not when I need you! Not when it's as easy as summoning yourself into my room for just a few minutes. Just for a hug or a check in! Anything!", he said, speaking with his hands now.
Lily turned away from him for a second and took in a sharp breath. She had actually started to feel bad. Lily was angry, but Atticus was right. She wasn't there when he needed her. Of course, she had her reasons, but she just always figured he'd be fine.
She clenched her jaw as unpredicted anger welled back up inside her. At this point, she had no more reason to be angry, but she could not stop herself. It was like something else was speaking through her, like something was possessing her.
"Atticus...fuck you. Fuck this! You don't get to sit here and make me feel bad!", she said, powering up for another attack, "I could tear your head right off your body!"
