"You are all just selfish, childish and stupid! " Luna shouted at the other three people facing her. "I never want to see you again..." A few tears escaped from her already bright eyes. "Forget about me!"

If you were still here, you would have told them. You would have told them how much I loved you. How I would have done anything for you. Dayo, you would have told them how much I loved you. Dayo. My best friend.

Dayo layed there sleeping for eternity. With a look of peace on his face as he watched his friends' heartbreak, Dayo was fast asleep. Perhaps he was dreaming the dreams of Luna and his other friends. Perhaps he was dreaming of their memories together. Or perhaps he was dreaming of his future, so quickly erased.

Luna took one last look at her friend, as if to bid him a final farewell. The silence around her seemed to point to her. The young woman tore off the bracelet from around her wrist. She let herself fall to the ground, her blond hair sticking to her face through her tears.

"Don't forget me Dayo." She placed the bracelet on her friend's chest. At heart level. "Be happy. I beg you."

On that winter's day, when the wind sounded through the leaves of the trees, a young woman bade farewell to her best friend. Dayo's newfound peace launched the destruction of an old group of friends.

On this same winter's day, this same young woman bade farewell to a life she had once known.

The small apartment was, despite its small size, really pretty and very bright. A large window graciously let in the sun and bathed the room in soft light.

Luna had just moved in, and it was strange enough for her to be moving from her lost little town to the capital that threatened to eat her alive. But she was ready and prepared. Her past was behind her. She had only taken the trouble to bring along a few reminiscences of her past with Dayo. Just those little memories that she would never and could never erase.

Letting out a tired sigh, the young woman sat down on the floor in front of all the work of unpacking boxes. Perhaps she should ask for a little help for once?

Scrolling through contacts, Emi appeared. "No, I won't bother her." Cara was probably the best solution.

It was only an hour later that the little brunette knocked on her door, a big smile on her face. Her little bright red car was parked further down the driveway near Luna's building.

With an even bigger smile, Luna let her friend in and thought deep down that maybe this time she'd made the right choice. Was she capable of trusting again when an emptiness as immense as that left by Dayo tortured her soul?

"All nice and clean!" Cara laughed. The young woman's eyes sparkled at her friend. "You should have called me sooner!"

Cara was a very pretty young woman. Despite her small stature, her beautiful raven-colored hair and her eyes of the same color always shone with joy. It was absolutely obvious to state that the young woman was the protégé of the small group of friends Luna had recently made.

Deep down, Luna envied Cara a little. She envied her kindness, her innocence and her naivety. She envied her fine features and the infinite kindness she could show.

But Luna still couldn't do it, and she wasn't sure she ever would. She had known this kindness in the past. That kindness that slowly killed her.

And every day, Luna tried to forget the pain of her past and the smile of the best friend she once had.

"Do you want to stay for dinner?" Luna stood up. She finished folding the last box so she could take it down and throw it away. "I'm cooking!"

"Deal! I know your culinary skills are second to none!"

"I'm taking the last boxes down to throw them away." The blonde began, grabbing the last boxes off the floor. "Are you waiting for me here?"

Cara nodded gently and sat down in the desk chair at the far end of the apartment. "Waiting for you!" Cara grabbed her phone as she spun around on the desk chair. For a moment, Luna thought that this childlike behavior must be the one everyone loved so much?

When the door of the room was in front of her, Luna, staggering, was able to throw away the incredible quantity of cardboard boxes overflowing from her arms. Busy throwing everything away, Luna didn't look back when the door opened behind her.

It was only when she heard the sound of the door slamming that she turned around.

"H-hello?" The room remained utterly empty, and only the sound of the wind howling at the windows broke the silence. "Is someone there?"

The young woman pushed open the door and stepped out. When the wind picked up again, as if to mock the young woman, a shiny object fell down the stairs.

As fear took possession of her body, Luna couldn't hold back her tears.

Here, at her feet, layed a small bracelet on which hung a note, a simple note.

Written in black ink and in a script she didn't know, a simple sentence was inscribed on this simple piece of paper hanging from this very special bracelet.

I haven't forgotten you. D.
