Jake's alarm went off, it was 6:30 am. He groaned and rolled away from his alarm, bumping the floor. "fuck that hurt!!" he whispered as he stood up. Today was a big day for Jake, he was finally going to tell his best friend he liked him. It seemed easy, just say it. Besides, Jake thought Sunghoon liked him anyways. They were always together hugging, holding hands, cuddling.. but Sunghoon said it was in a "bro" way. It dearly confused Jake. "How can you do that as homies?" he thought to himself. Sunghoon knew Jake was openly gay, and Jake didn't think his best friend would confuse him like that. That's why he thought he liked him back. What really could go wrong?

Jake started getting dressed with a smile on his face. He was genuinely so excited to tell him. It could get him a boyfriend! As he brushed his teeth he checked his phone, seeing Sunghoon's instagram account. He saw his newest post with a girl he didn't recognize. He saw the caption said "Love wony <3". His eyebrows furrowed. "whos wony??" he thought to himself. He saw a girl in the comments with the user @wonyoung_jang. Maybe they're new friends. An anxiety built up in his chest. "who is this girl???"

As he walked to school, his mind was racing with questions. Wondering if she replaced Jake for Sunghoon. He really didn't know what to do or think. He played with his fingers as he walked slowly, his friend Sunoo coming up. "What has ya so fidgety?" Sunoo asked as he grabbed his hand and squeezed it. Jake lifted his head up and told Sunoo all about Wonyoung on Sunghoon's page. Sunoo knew about Jake's crush on Sunghoon. All of their friends knew, and they all thought Sunghoon liked him back. Why wouldn't he? I mean, he never disclosed his sexuality but they all thought he was at least attracted to boys. It was a no brainer. He was always eyeing Jake, and looking at boys in PE. In the locker room when a boy took off his shirt Sunghoon's face always turned pink as he glanced. The whole friend group thought he was probably just in the closet. They never really expected him to be straight. Especially because anytime he was around girls he was uncomfortable. He was a crush for many girls, which all of them he rejected in an uncomfy manner. So yeah, they all thought he was gay, and he would end up with Jake. It was like Romeo and Juliet to the friend group. That's why they were all so excited for him to tell Jake how he felt.

Sunoo's jaw dropped as his eyes widened. "LOVE wony? He does NOT love any female. Anytime they go near him he acts like someone just shat their pants. His face looks DISGUSTED. This can't be real... he's gay, right??-" Sunoo thought Jake would know, since they're always together. "well he's never came out... he's always told me he's straight.. but with a really low tone, sounding sad or something. But I guess just confessing won't hurt, right? Maybe he'll come out then." Sunoo nodded in agreement, thinking he was right on that. But deep inside, Sunoo knew that this wasn't gonna end out well. Jake was still clearly anxious, so Sunoo kept a hold on his hand.

As the two boys arrive at school, they walk to their lockers and grab out their books. Jake saw Sunghoon and said his typical hello. Jake went out for a hug like they usually do, but this time Sunghoon hugged back in a weird manner.. he seemed out of it. "hey, are you alright? You don't seem okay." he said as a concerned friend. Sunghoon shut him down. "Yeah, i'm just fine, why wouldn't I be?" Jake raised an eyebrow and responded with "okay." before walking away to his first class. Something was definitely off. Jake went back up to Sunoo and relayed what had happened. "Jay said that Sunghoon kept talking about Wonyoung to him. I don't know what she is to him, and why he means so much." That had made Jake's heart sink. What REALLY was happening? Nobody knew besides Jay. So after their first class, Jake had to find Jay.

In class, Jake's leg bounced up and down anxiously as he bit down on his lip a bit too hard while looking at the clock.

The bell rings and Jake darts up, heading to Jay's locker. Jake was there before the other boy had even arrived, leaving Jay confused. "Hey Jake-ah, what's up?" Jake had sighed before asking the question he had dreaded. "Who's Wonyoung?" Jay's eyes widened. "You don't know they're dating? You're his best friend, why wouldn't you know?"

blink. blink. blink.

Jake walked away, his heart felt like it was stabbed with a knife. Stabbed. His best friend had a girlfriend, what the hell?? He didn't even fucking like girls. What is happening??? Jake saw Sunghoon holding her hand as he shot him a glare. Sunghoon gave Jake a GLARE??? Jake didn't know if he was more sad or pissed. At this point, he didn't know what emotions were. As he walked to lunch he stayed silent. He had tears welling up in his eyes. The whole friend group sat with each other at lunch besides Sunghoon. He was sitting with stupid Wonyoung. Jake played with his food and looked down, the water flowing out of his eyes not showing to his friends. They were all talking and not really noticing. Sunoo would've noticed, but Jay was flirting with him.. it was VERY obvious they needed to get married. "excuse me.." The aussie had said before standing up and going to the bathroom. When he got in the stall he finally let the tears go. It was like a river as he sobbed. His heart just felt broken. "why am I crying over a boy??" he thought to himself as he saw Sunoo's pink heels from under the stall.

"Jakey hyung, what's wrong, im worried about you. It's been at least ten minutes." Jake had unlocked the stall for the younger. Sunoo saw his state and immediately hugged his friend. "Oh my god Jake, is this because of Wonyoung and Sunghoon?" He got a nod in response. They stayed in that hug for a solid 4 more minutes before Sunoo broke the silence. "Hey, its okay. You don't really know what is going on. Jay could be wrong." He wiped off Jake's tears before grabbing his hand and walking them out of the bathroom. Outside of the bathroom, of course Wonyoung and Sunghoon were right there. They had kissed. Jake just looked away, staring at Sunoo with puppy-like eyes. He was so sick of that day

The rest of the day had gone by, Jake attached to Sunoo by the hip. Mostly because Sunoo acted like a worried mother to Jake. Sunoo was the most mom-acting person he had ever met. He was lucky to have Sunoo. It had been one day, and he just really missed Sunghoon. It was more than a crush. It was falling in love.

Sunoo was walking Jake home. Jake was quieter than normal, but the younger was not shocked. He had basically just had his heart ripped up into little itty bitty pieces. As they got to Jake's house he waved goodbye to Sunoo. When he walked inside his dog layla came up to him as she started licking all over his face. He giggled, "Hi Layla." He walked upstairs to his room before lying down on his bed. He stared up at his celling, pinching at his hand. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch. He said in his head. His nails were sharp, so it hurt a bit. He didn't realize he was doing it before he looked down and saw a small bit of blood dripping out. Shit. He had some self destructive tendencies, leading to when he had high levels of anxiety he ended up hurting himself. Sunghoon was the only one who could help calm him down usually, but he was too scared to reach out to him. He just lied there. He really felt like this wasn't right. He felt like he was dreaming, like this wasn't real. Sunghoon wouldn't date someone like Wonyoung. He was so, so fucking confused. At this point, he was just done with that day. He closed his eyes and just drifted to sleep in the same clothes from before. He was emotionally drained, and heartbroken.
