"I don't want to die here... I'd promised them I'd come home.... Nezuko, Takeo... mother, Shigeru... Hanako...." He couldn't finish speaking his siblings names, as the snow around him was stained with a color that resembled a fine wine.

He was rushing to get up the mountain, old man Saburo's words making him fear for his family. He had gotten his head split open on a rock that was somehow harder than his skull. His breathing slowed down, and eventually stopped completely.

I'm sorry I didn't come home... mother....

Tanjiro jolted when he felt thread around his hands, and a weight on his chest. He looked down to see skin white as snow and a Kimono. He looked over to see a man in a uniform, turning around with a smug grin, before his face contorted into one of shock.

"But I beheaded you! You— you're supposed to be dead!" He retreated until his back hit a tree, not being able to go back any further.

Tanjiro was confused. "What? No, I'm not going to hurt you, it's okay—" one thing he noticed was that he was barefoot, and another was that this boy was just sliced apart by threads.

"Why didn't you kill him with your puppets, mother?! You're supposed to kill all the demons slayers! Don't make me tell father!" A boy with white hair and red spots on his face screamed. Tanjiro's confusion only grew, as he stared at the boy. He didn't know him, yet he was calling Tanjiro mother.

Actually, now that he thought about it, he didn't know where he was. He didn't recognize this forest or its smell. This was all new to him.

"Mother!" The boy reached over and pulled at Tanjiro's hair, making him yelp in pain. "Do you wish for me to tell father?!" Tanjiro didn't know what was happening, but he assumed worse things would happen if he told 'father'. Yet he wouldn't apologize for trying to calm the— now dead— boy down.

"I don't know who you are, but I will not apologize!" He screamed, making the boy let loose of his grip a bit. His face read only shock. "Mother?" He put his hand up to Tanjiro's forehead, and he felt the urge to slap it away. But he didn't.

"Mother? You have no right to call me—" he was silenced by a slap across the face. "Stop it with this foolishness. You will get rid of these slayers. Understand, Kumo Oni?" He asked. Tanjiro winced in pain, and looked back at the boy. A name popped into his mind, one he's never heard before.

Rui.

"Yes... Rui." Tanjiro held his cheek in pain as he stared at the ground. He didn't know exactly what he was supposed to do, but a set of instructions apparently came with this body because he felt the threads around his fingers tugging at them. He was controlling people, and he didn't want to know what they were slicing.

Near sunrise he was dragged into a house by the now long hair and thrown into a room with some spider creature. He felt a chill run up his spine and felt the urge to run, but his legs just wouldn't move.

The house was filled with screams of pain, as the siblings winced at their 'mothers' screams. Sound of bone matter rebuilding itself met a few of their ears soon after. Rui watched as his 'father' excited the room, blood stained his knuckles. He glanced into and saw his 'mother' sobbing on the floor, sat in a puddle of blood.

"Get up, it's pathetic how you cry like that." He left Tanjiro alone in that room, wondering how this woman had gotten here. What was going on with him? Was this girl a demon?

He felt pity for her, and all the other demons he saw in this house. They all looked so scared of that little boy. This was like a doll house, so he'd play the part. Which is probably what got him in the situation he was in right now.
