As soon as Arthur was calmed down enough, John and Charles pulled him aside to explain the plan to him. Abigail got a good description of the guy which helped them out a lot. They just weren't sure where he had taken Gwen, thoughts of the 23 year old flooded the outlaws mind and he wondered if she was okay. His heart ached at the thought of losing her...he had already lost Eliza and Mary; losing Gwen would surely destroy him. The whole gang could see it, Arthur Morgan was in love.

It was a few hours later by the time the members who were involved in rescuing Gwen set off for the city of Saint Denis. It was the only place she could've been taken, Rhodes would be too obvious. Especially with the Grays and Braithewaites poking around. Arthur was angry, not at Gwen but at himself. How could he not have noticed she gotten up? If he had noticed she'd still be here.

Arthur knew he wasn't good enough for the younger woman. She was delicate like a flower and sweet like honey, he was an outlawed gunslinger with a $5,000 bounty over his head. He didn't deserve Gwendolyn Washington, yet he knew he would do anything he could to protect her. Anything.

Arthur, John, and Charles were riding together through the bustling city with eyes peeled and ears listening closely. Abigail had mentioned the man appearing to look around 6'2, dark hair styled nicely and dark clothing. That's all she could see before ducking back behind her hiding place, she wanted so much to help Gwen but knew with just herself she wouldn't have been able to. "—that Washington girl is in there with him. They're waiting on his brother or somethin'" The trio couldn't help but overhear a group of men's conversation causing them to stop in their tracks.

Arthur first hitched his horse up before storming over to the men demanding them to repeat what they had said. The group of men scattered once they caught sight of an angry looking Arthur who had his hand already on his gun, ready to pull it when he needed to. "You think she's in there?"Charles questioned quietly as he glanced at the two men who stood next to him. "She's gotta be."John replied in a just as quiet tone readying himself for their next move.

The trio counted to three before Arthur busts the door down and they rush inside. "Who the fuck are you?!"a males voice shouts whilst throwing a punch towards Arthur but misses when he ducks and feels Arthur's fist connect with his face; knocking him to the ground groaning in pain. Arthur pointed his gun at the man's head demanding to know where Gwen was unless he wanted a bullet through the skull. Elijah spit out the metallic tasting blood that formed in his mouth giving Arthur a shit eating grin.

"Little Miss Washington is unavailable at moment outlaw."Elijah spit with disgust not believing he was being held gunpoint by a goon. John spotted an unconscious Gwen tied to a chair in the corner of the room and quickly rushed over to untie her. "We're here Gwen."John muttered as he untied the younger woman.

Gwen stirred awake at the feeling of being untied. "John."She mumbled dizzily feeling lightheaded. John shushed her as he helped her stand to her feet. He glanced at her growing angry for the woman he considered family, the sight of her black and swollen shut eye, her lip was busted and still bleeding. She had a cut above her right eyebrow and a nasty bruise covered the right side of her face.

Gwen passed out the moment she stood up causing John to carry her out, leaving Arthur to deal with Elijah. The bank robbery would have to wait until Gwen was healed.

Both John and Charles arrived back to Shady Belle safely with Gwen. Arthur would meet them back here after he finished with his business. Abigail rushed over quickly as Charles carefully lifted the young woman into his arms and began walking towards the plantation house; Abigail followed close behind with a worried look etched on her face.

Charles brought Gwen upstairs to the room her and Arthur shared, making sure she was comfortable on the bed before leaving her and Abigail alone. Abigail sat on the edge of the bed and lightly stroked Gwen's hair as a single tear fell from her eye. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to help Gwen."The 22 year old whispered; her heart breaking at the sight of the battered and bruise woman she considered like a sister.

Abigail sat with Gwen until Arthur arrived back, Gwen had woken up some time after Charles left so Abigail moved to sit in the bed and read aloud one of the romance books Mary-Beth had lying around. Gwen cracked a joke about the book just as Arthur entered at the sound of Abigail's laugh. Arthur's heart broke at the sight of the woman he was falling in love with.

Abigail excused herself quietly and quickly left. Gwen gave Arthur a pained smile as he took a seat beside her. "I didn't tell him anything Arthur."she began but Arthur cut her off assuring her that he knew she didn't, but if she had she wouldn't look the way she did. Gwen winced in pain as she moved her body to face Arthur. "I care about you and this gang a lot Arthur Morgan...I am not a rat. I would never tell a soul about anything."

So Arthur made himself and Gwen comfortable as they talked quietly enjoying each others presence. Arthur was happy to have Gwen back in his arms, and despite what she looked like; Gwen still felt beautiful in the presence of the older man. She felt safe and happy wrapped up in the arms of her outlaw.
