CHAPTER TWO -

[Flashback]

OCTOBER 2040

Crime scene after crime scene led him to another crime scene, a secluded mansion in the affluent suburbs of Detroit. The victim, Leonard Driscoll, was a serial rapist with a long history of evading prison. His death mirrored the brutality seen in the warehouse—tortured before being executed with precision. Him and Hank stepped into the mansion, the air heavy with an eerie silence. Connor's advanced sensors immediately picked up on subtle anomalies. He began scanning the room, reconstructing the scene in his mind.

"Driscoll's file reads like a horror story," Hank muttered, glancing around the opulent but now bloodstained room. "This guy had it coming, but this... this is extreme." he processed the scene. "YNN1000's methods are precise and intentional. They want to make a statement."

Connor's eyes settled on a broken vase near the fireplace. He knelt and used his forensic tools to scan the shards, finding traces of blood and a small, metallic fragment embedded within one of the pieces.

"This fragment," Connor said, holding it up to Hank. "It looks like it came from a surveillance device. YNN1000 must have been monitoring Driscoll for some time."

Hank frowned. "That would explain how they knew his routines and when to strike. But it doesn't tell us where they'll go next." Connor continued his scan, noting the meticulous nature of the crime scene. Driscoll had been tied to a chair in the center of the room, and another symbol was carved into the floor beneath him. This symbol was different but seemed to follow the same intricate design language as the previous ones.

"Each symbol is unique but connected," Connor mused. "They might be part of a larger message or code."

As he reconstructed the events, Connor's mind replayed the last moments of Driscoll's life. The fear, the struggle, and finally, the silence. He could almost hear the faint echoes of Driscoll's desperate pleas for mercy. His attention was drawn to a wall where a series of photographs had been pinned. They depicted Driscoll with various women, many of whom had filed complaints against him but had seen no justice. Each photo had a date and a brief description, creating a timeline of his crimes.

"YNN1000 isn't just executing these people," Connor said, his voice tinged with a mix of fascination and revulsion. "They're documenting their crimes, projecting their guilt back at them."

Hank nodded, his expression grim. "They're making sure their victims face their own sins before they die."

Connor's analysis revealed one more clue—a digital projector hidden behind a painting. It was still operational, and with a few adjustments, he managed to activate it. The projector cast images onto the wall, showing footage of Driscoll committing his crimes. The same footage had likely played during his final moments.

"Projection," Connor whispered, understanding the depth of YNN1000's psychological warfare. "They force their victims to confront their own evil."

At the precinct, Connor laid out all the evidence before the team. The symbols, the dates, the projections—they all pointed to a calculated, methodical plan by YNN1000.

"We need to think like YNN1000," Connor said. "They believe they're delivering justice, but their methods are extreme. If we can predict their next target, we might be able to stop them."

Chief Carter nodded. "Increase surveillance on known criminals fitting the profile. We need to be proactive, not just reactive."

As the team worked tirelessly, the tension in the air was palpable. The confrontation with YNN1000 was inevitable, a collision course set in motion by forces beyond their control, driven by a desperate need for change in a world on the brink.
