Elijah’s pov ;
It had been a gruelling day at the office, and the tension in my shoulders was a constant reminder of the stress I had been under.
But the real source of my frustration wasn't the work—it was Ash. Every time I saw him, he would be surrounded by admiring colleagues, which would erupt a fire within me. They couldn't get enough of him, and it drove me insane.
It's not like I was jealous or anything. However, I brought him here to insult him, not to make him into the golden boy of the company.
"I have watched all your movies," one of the new interns said as I halted in my tracks, watching them from a distance. "You're a legend! And to think you're working in this department, just like the rest of us..."
"Oh, it's nothing, really," he smiled shyly. "I've learned so much already, thanks to the amazing guidance of you Ms. Keller."
"You're more handsome in real life," One of the female colleagues touches his arm flirtatiously.
"That's very kind of you," he turned to her, face as red as a tomato. "I can say the same about you. You're all such talented employees. And it's wonderful to see everyone being so creative."
My eyes followed her hand that was touching him, she didn't take it away and he too, didn't seem to mind it at all.
But I was fuming inside. My eyes twitched in anger and hands clenched tightly.
I couldn't stand the thought of another woman getting to touch him. What is happening? Am I seriously jealous right now?
What a load of bullshit! How can I be jealous over someone so cheap and sleazy? He belonged to me since I have particularly brought him. And I don't like someone else touching what's mine.
I cleared my throat loudly as I approached them, causing some of them to startle and others to shoot me annoyed glances as if I care.
“I'm glad you all are having fun," I announced sharply, my tone cutting through their camaraderie. "Back to work now, everyone. Since I don't pay you for having fun. We have deadlines to meet."
The group dispersed reluctantly, leaving Ash looking slightly bewildered at my abrupt intervention. I ignored his questioning gaze and motioned for him to follow me into a quieter corner of the office.
"What was that about?" he inquired behind me.
I fixed him with a stern look. "You seem to be enjoying the attention a bit too much," I said coolly. "Remember, you're here to be my secretary, and not to flirt."
He blinked at me, and I could tell I had caught him off guard. He opened his mouth to speak, but then closed it again, seeming to decide against whatever retort had been on his tongue.
He nodded silently, not wanting to escalate the tension further. I knew I was being unreasonable, but I couldn't help the surge of possessiveness that gripped me whenever I saw others showing interest in him.
"Good," I said, satisfied that I had made my point. I turned and walked back to my office. "Now, follow me."
Once we were inside, I closed the door and turned to face him. He looked a little uneasy, but also defiant. It's better if I keep him around so that he doesn't get a chance to look sweet at other people.
"What was it that you wanted to show me?" He questioned, his voice a bit cold.
I ignored his tone and reached for a folder on my desk. "Here," I let out, handing it to him. "This is the proposal for the ad campaign we're working on. I need you to go through it and make any necessary revisions before we present it to the client."
