LIFE has been good for Alex ever since the new year. He asked Max to be his girlfriend sometime in January, and Max immediately agreed. It was a surprise for Alex, since she basically said 'Yes' with no hesitation. They started hanging out a lot, (at the Wheeler house, of course, since Max's home situation wasn't the best), well — more like making out every five seconds, but that's not the point.

Alex was also way more confident after that. He still blushed at everything, (which is something that will never change), but got more confidence in himself than last year.

Alex was just crazy in love with her. With her eyes, with her hair, everything about her. But he wasn't sure how to tell her, since he knew that Max was bad with confessing her feelings, or just talking about them overall.

I'm a lucky fella and I've just got to tell her,

That I love her endlessly..

Alex hesitantly pulled away, taking heavy breaths as he looked at the redhead with a loving smile. "We're becoming like Mike and El, y'know?" The boy let out a breathless laugh, brushing some of her hair behind her ear.

"Did you really have to bring up your brother right now?" Max rolled her eyes with a small smile, keeping her arms around his neck.

Because love grows, where my rosemary goes

And nobody knows..

Alex laughed, tilting his head to the side and giving Max a teasing smile. "I said it  so you wouldn't get too carried away." He winked, getting another eye roll from Max.

"You got really cocky after the snowball, didn't you?" She asked with a mocking smile. She then looked over the Wheeler boy's shoulder,  looking at the clock on the wall. "Alex," She furrowed her brows, "We're almost late."

There's something about her hand holding mine,

It's a feeling that's fine

And I just gotta say,

She's really got a magical spell...

Alex raised his eyebrows, turning his head around to look at the clock. "Since when does it bother you that you're late?" He asked with a smirk, turning around and smashing his lips against hers again.

......

"You're late." Lucas looked at Mike as he finally approached Starcourt. Him, Alex, Max and Will have been waiting 30 minutes already. Max and Alex both suggested they go without him, but Will insisted on waiting. "Again."

"We're gonna miss the opening." Will complained.

"Yeah, if you keep whining about it. Let's go!" Mike urged, nodding his head and running past the group.

"If you guys keep whining about it. Nyeh-nyeh-Nyeh." Lucas mocked the other Wheeler, getting a smile from Alex.

"Just please stop talking, dude."

"Let me guess. You were busy." Lucas then started making smacking noises, Alex giving Max a grin the moment he started doing that. Max just rolled her eyes at her boyfriend knowing what he was implying. There was a small smile on her face though.

"Oh yeah, real mature, Lucas."

"Oh, El, i wish we could make out forever, and never hang out with any of our friends."

"Lucas, stop."

"Will and Alex think it's funny." Lucas retorted.

"Because it is." The two boys let out a small laugh.

"Yeah, it's so funny that i want to spend romantic time with my girlfriend." Mike threw his hands up in the air defensively.

Alex turned to Max the same grin he had earlier, "I'm spending romantic time with my girlfriend." He whispered quietly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

As they made their way down the packed escalator, the teens always bumped into someone, getting eye rolls from the person or just getting pushed back.

"Hey!"

"Excuse us!"

"Sorry! Sorry!"

"Excuse me, I'm sorry."

"Sorry."

"Hey!"

"Watch it!"

"Yeah! watch it, nerd!" Erica, Lucas's little sister called out at him.

"Isn't it past your bedtime?" Lucas retorted.

"Isn't it time you died?"

"Psycho!"

"Butthead!"

"Mall rat!"

"Fart face!"

Lucas blew a raspberry at his sister, getting an eye roll from Max. "Oh, now that was mature." Max grabbed the brown boy's arm to drag him away from her. The group went into Scoops Ahoy, Mike repeatedly ringing the bell.

"Hey, dingus, your children are here." Robin, Steve's coworker yelled, unamused.

"Again? Seriously?" Steve looked at the teens in disbelief as he opened the window to the back of the store.

Steve opened the back door, the Party rushing out of it.

"I swear, if anybody hears about this—"

"We're dead!" Everyone yelled out in unison, not bothering to look at Steve.

Once in the cinema, everyone took their seats, Alex sitting between Lucas and Max. Will then passed everyone snacks, Alex giving him a small "thank you."

Alex put a hand on Max's knee, looking at the screen infront of them.

The movie then faded into black, a power outage happening all across StarCourt. Everyone in the movie theatre either groaned or booed, while Alex just looked at the projector behind them in confusion.

The power then switched back on, Alex letting out a sigh of relief. Everyone in the cinema cheered, while Alex peered over Max's shoulder to look at Will. He noticed that he was touching the back of his neck, a look of uneasy on his face. Almost as if he felt -

No. Everything's okay. It has to be.
