Sapphire of Night story updates and rambles

May/Mid June 2024

So I've been busy irl..Part of it is I'm adult and have to do an adult thing and work, part of it I've been distracted between youtube and D&DSo as I was practicing making vids once more because I haven't touched my youtube account for posting videos since 2017 before this year and when I first started... When I first started I had no idea what I was doing and those videos have been long since deleted. Then in 2016-2017 I did some videos for school, only one of which is public and then this year after putting it off for months (the original plan was to start in January) and I started in April... Well I've been focused on getting a buffer of the gaming videos since I want to do some drawing talking videos where I go over my books.. Only because the mature topics of my books I will have to mark them for adult just to be on the safe side (I will still give a warning just to be safe, because while I won't explain things in an explicit manor, the topics are triggering) The hope is to make 2-3 vids for the Black Dawn Series for its coming anniversary
Now onto why I am putting June into this..First thing: The Black Dawn Series I am going to somewhat reband into Tales of Rhazie.. For a couple reasons, one of which I will get into the next part.. A reason that stands is the Black Dawn Series while for the most part focuses on 1 group of cats, its not the only group and I would like some day to show things that exist in the world that are in a different setting and now onto the bigger reason..So while I continue to try and plot ahead aka figure out how to handle what is to come of what was originally Fading Light, I have noticed that I've been enjoying writing some of the prequel stuff.. Thus I've decided that book 1 Black Dawn is no longer book 1 but book 2. Tainted Sunrise is now book 1the 2 big reasons for this is: 1 the comic starts in the prequel era and I was 100% questioning how I was supposed to go about that for the written version since most of the prequel stuff which I've all written this year are technically one shots that follow an order of eventsthe second reason given that I have decided that book 1 is no longer than same book It being the "Black Dawn Series" no longer fits, granted I might still refer to it as such as its been that for about 10 years
overall what does this mean?I have to redo the 3 (3 1/2 if I count the notebook sketches) because I redid the prologue to go along with this idea because the part with Clare right after giving birth to her second litter (Hazel, Stone & Hawk) would now be in the epilogue Fun fact even if I hadn't decided to change book 1 to go over the important history/lore/backstory I would have to redo the prologue because I wanted to also show how Anik convinced Falcon (who might get renamed) that Shatterednight should be a healer because the two ways she goes about convincing him is where it would divide into an au where Stone ends up in Cliff Valley.. Part of me is actually still considering making that canon even if means it changes things so some kits wouldn't exist (100% the kits I had planned for him CotD, at least Hawk is still there causing problems by siring kits without wanting to be a father)In that au CV does eventually start allowing same sex couples long as said couples are providing kits to the group, its also more toxic and does change things for Stone in the sense Stone actually is a good decent fighter but when raised under Slade he thinks he's weak, meanwhile under Falcon he actually acknowledges the fact.. I might ramble about the 2 versions in the 10 year anniversary video... Granted the one thing holding the au version from becoming cannon with all its changes (cause Stone not ending up CotD does effect some things, like Sven being found out) is after a point I am not certain where it would move forward and how it would effect the minset of our protags, also I would need a new protag (probs would mostly swap between Sapphire & Ace after we move past Hazel & Stone, but I probs should have protags for SF & RV as well)Basically I am going to use the point up to the epilogue to debate if I want to go with that au (I might just attempt to write both since Hazel's pov's till she reaches the CotD is exactly the same, so it would just be Stone's PoV that would be different)
tldr: I had to restart comic, Black Dawn is now book 2, book 1 is Tainted Sunrise which will going over the history/lore/backstory with no true PoV character (a chunk follows antagonists hence why I don't say protagonist), still working on refs, hope to have a buffer so we can have daily refs till the 19th, debating an au/might do both since part of it remains unchanged, youtube vids are currently priority somehow and I'm trying to change it so I can spend 1 week on Tales of Rhazie and one focused on editing/making vids
