[episode 01/02 season 01]
All of three friends were now again sitting in the Impala, Dean on the drivers seat, Sam on the passenger seat and Aurora on the backseat. Sam was looking through their father's journal where he written a note for them, signed with Dean's name.
"Alright, i know where dad went." Started Sam while looking at the map. "Blackwater Ridge in Colorado." Added and looked between Aurora and Dean.
"How far is it?" The girl asked while moving into the middle of the backseat so she could have a better look at the map that Sam was holding.
"Like a thousand kilometers." Younger brother replied and looked over at Dean who spoke. "We're gonna be there before sunrise." Sam stayed silent as he still had his eyes on his older brother.
"Dean, I.." i started but then stopped, making a long uncomfortable silence in the car. Dean looked at Sam as his eyes flickered to the road and then back at his brother again.
"You're not coming.." he said being a little disappointed that Sam wasn't gonna go for another hunt with him, to find their father.
Sam couldn't look at his brother feeling guilty for leaving him alone. "I have interview in like ten hours, i gotta be there." The girl suddenly turned to Dean and spoke up. "I can go with you."
Dean appreciated the offer to help him from Aurora, but he only chuckled quietly and looked at her in the mirror reflection. "That's nice, but i'll be good." Aurora looked at him through mirror reflection with a sad smile. She was disappointed that he declined her offer, but she didn't showed it.
"Okay, i'll drop you off." Dean said after a while as he looked between his brother and the girl. His eyes went back on the road, focusing all his attention to safety arrive at his brother apartment.
For the rest of the road the car was filled with Dean's playlists, no one was speaking until Impala stopped in front of Sam's apartment. Younger brother walked out of the car, closing the door behind him.
"I'll see you two later, right?" Sam asked as he looked between Aurora and his brother. They both nodded but only the girl smiled. "Drive her safely." He added, now looking only at Dean.
"Don't worry, it's not the first time." Older brother answered as he had his eyes on Aurora's reflection for the whole time. "We'll be safe." He added and drove off.
"It's nice to see you again." She finally found herself talking to the man she haven't saw in more than a year. „yeah, it's nice." He replied and moved his gaze at road, being too nervous to look at her.
The silence again, unspoken words between them and Iris, song played by Goo Goo Dolls. Aurora's favorite song, the song her father used to play.
"How did you know it's my favorite song?" The girl asked and looked at the back of his head. She could see how his lips curled into a small smirk.
"i guessed." He replied and turned the volume up. Dean's eyes flickered to the mirror reflection of Aurora, making his heart flutter for a second.
"Oh, you can stop right there." Girl spoke and pointed at the small parking space in front of grocery store. "You want to do grocery?" He asked confused, but stopped the car right where she pointed.
Aurora let out a quiet laugh, making Dean turn head and look at her. "No silly, i'm living above the store." She replied, making an eye contact with him. "Alone?" He asked, but she exited the car, standing in front of the broken window of his car.
"Why? Are you jealous?" She asked playfully, placing her forearms over the car door where the window supposed to be. Dean's eyes slightly widened, not expecting that question from her.
"I'm kidding!" She said after a while of the uncomfortable silence between them. She straightened herself still looking at him. "No, i'm living with some old lady." She added and forced a tiny smile.
"Oh, okay." He replied with a gentle nod and a forced small smile. Dean looked at the radio, lowering the volume and moved his gaze back at Aurora. "Good night."
"Good night, Dean." She smiled, her real smile, the one she had whenever she looked at that man. Aurora turned around on her heel and walked inside the grocery store. "Hello Florence." She greeted the old lady.
"Hello darling." Florence smiled at Aurora, she treated her like her own granddaughter and helped her with Michael every time Aurora had to go to college.
Aurora quickly find her way up to her apartment that she shared with Florence. She entered the room seeing her son playing with lego, she immediately smiled and crouched down next to Mike.
"Hi kiddo." The boy smiled and crawled up to his mother with a wide smile on his face. Aurora giggled quietly and grabbed her son in her arms. "You know who i saw today?" Aurora asked the little boy, placing him on his bed. "I saw your father." She smiled and sat beside him.
"We got here today to Goodbye to a daughter, a friend and girlfriend. We can all agree that Jessica Lee Moore died way too soon." Aurora was listening how Priest was talking about her best friend when she laid in an open coffin. She was beautiful even when she was dead.
A single teardrop rolled down her cheek, she couldn't cry anymore. All her tears were used at the same night when Jess died. Her heart was breaking even more when she saw Sam standing in front of his girlfriend's grave. And the worst was that she couldn't do anything about it, Sam had Dean, he didn't need her.
"You promised me that i will be the first to die." Aurora muttered with a sad scoff while she stood in front of her best friend's grave. "I will live for you and I promise to tell Dean about Michael." The girls spoke and placed white roses on the grave, Jessica's favorite flowers. "I love you."
She smiled, looking at the grave one last time before walking away to her car. Little did she know, Sam was still standing near the grave, hearing everything.
