Asuka's POV

I woke up-but only with the help of my mother. She was complaining about how late it already was. Wait-late?
"It's already 12:45! Get off your sorry butt and go change! You have fifteen minutes to eat breakfast, get changed, and brush that mangy hair!" Cried my mother.

"Oh mother that's ple-wait... FIFTEEN MINUTES?!" My voice nearly cracked. My hair would take at least ten, food would be five, and changing would be two! That's two minutes over! Maybe I can still make it on time if I rush.

"Oh, it's 12:49 already? Hurry up and move, child!" The elder woman shrieked. She refused to let her daughter be late for a 'play-date' as she called it.

It always irked me. Why are parents so-so-so.... Irritating? Yeah, irritating! Gosh, I hate it when they always talk about is in such immature ways, and make us feel stupid and embarrassed. Especially mothers. I swear-I mean-I don't really swear, but... Yeah!

Finally eating breakfast, brushing my hair and changing at the same time, I made it out the door by 12:59. I rushed to Gohan's house. Dashing through the woods, I made it there by 1:05. I hated being late, especially with new friends, because you still don't know what they're like.

Gohan laughed as he opened the door for me. What was so funny? It's not like I was wearing my pajamas! My brother, Sannosuke, was taking a picture of me, trying not to hold his laughter in. What a wonderful brother I have. He showed me the picture after a few moments, and I gasped. My hair! I-It was ruined! There was a small branch in my hair, and it was all frizzy. I was about to cry. This was so embarrassing!

Apparently Gohan's mother noticed, and somehow I never noticed her walking downstairs. She pulled me into the bathroom and helped me fix my hair. Mrs. Son is so nice! I wish my mom was like this. It sounds weird to say Mrs. Son, but I don't think she likes her last name. So I have to ask her what her name is.

"Uh... Thanks, Mrs..." I started, not knowing what to say.

"You can call me Karin, Asuka." She stated kindly.

I felt happy. It kind of felt like she trusted me. I wonder why. Gohan knocked on the bathroom door as we finished my hair.

"Everything okay in there?" He asked, probably wondering if I was crying or something.

"We're fine! Now be a good host and get some food for your friends!" Yelled Karin, who was right beside me. I covered my ears as she spoke. Her voice was really loud when angry.

He seemed to have scrambled away from the door, because after we opened the door, which was right after the conversation, he wasn't in front of it. Gohan brought back some cookies and rice balls, but my brother was still snickering horribly. I grumbled something so low that I didn't even know what I said.

Helping myself to one of the nine rice balls, I smiled. They were good!
"Did you make these, Gohan?" I asked, questioning him.

"Oh, uh yeah," he started to blush and rub his head, "they're pretty bad right? My mom and dad say a guy like me shouldn't cook."

"No way! They're amazing!" I cried.
Then after my brother took a bite, I got red as a tomato with anger, because he spoke.

"They're better than yours, Asuka." My patience just burst.

Face red, I stormed outside. Sannosuke was making this harder than it needed to be. Did he have to tease and make fun of me all the time? Soon enough, Gohan came outside.

"We're going to play some games on the XBOX, wanna come join us?" He asked hopefully.

"I guess I will." I said uneasily.
He smiled and grabbed my hand, nearly dragging me in the house. He was really strong! No, really, I mean super strong! Maybe he IS related to that Goku person!
