His Flower

Chapter Five

My mind is blank, I stare at Alexei with wide eyes and a slack jaw. My gaze then moves around the room and I wonder why no one is stopping the fight. The security is watching in their respective corners and everyone else is staring at us three. I turn my attention back to Alexei. His eyes are void of emotion, sweat dripping down his face. He's breathing from his mouth at a fast pace. Lia rushes to pull me into her arms and Gemini pulls Alexei off of my assailant, who is currently bleeding and barely breathing, and Alexei walks up to me. I don't know how to react, do I hug and kiss him or do I punch and yell at him for his behavior? I miss him but I'm angry at him. How can he leave me then come back and beat up people for me? My head spins with all of my conflicting thoughts. Alexei reaches out to touch me and I shy away, I don't want him to touch me with another man's blood on them.

    The shock wears off and anger sets in. I'm so embarrassed and upset, tonight was my night to have fun and get back to being me. I was doing so good without him and was finally ready to really put myself out there. I was going to go home tonight and set up another date with Bennett. Fuck, what will happen to us? I ball up my fists and take a step closer to him, closing the remaining distance. A ghost of a smile forms on his face and quickly dissolves when he sees my expression. I punch his chest.

    "Why are you here!" another punch.

    "Why would you cause such a scene!" another punch.

    "How could you leave me and then try to be the hero when you come back?!" two more punches.

    "I can't stand you!" three punches. Alexei catches my arms in his hands and stares at me with a stern expression. The submissive side of me takes over and calms down. He takes my hand and leads me to a back room with Gemini and Lia following us.

    I get a bit nervous as we enter the room and Gemini stands in front of it so I can't run out. I've been ambushed, are you fucking serious?!

    "Pet, sit down and listen." Alexei orders, pointing to the couch in the back of the small room. I do as told and opt not to look at him. He walks up to me and kneels down to my level. He lifts my head with his curled finger, his expression is soft and patient.

    "I'm sorry I scared you, I need you to talk to me okay?" I nod in response and stare into his eyes. He still feels like home.

    "Why are you here?" I say in a low tone, I'm desperately trying not to cry and I'm failing.

    "Baby, I told you I'd be back." Alexei places his hand on my cheek and kisses my nose. This is when I lose it, tear after tear falls down my cheek and onto his hand.

    "I'm mad at you for leaving me. I'm mad at you for spying on me. I miss you so much and I feel like you're so far out of reach." I sob out. He pulls me into his body and sits us on the floor as he cuddles me close. I hide my face in his chest and cry quietly.

    "I'm right here flower. Hush baby, when I leave you are coming with me. I will never leave you again." I sink into his body listening to his heartbeat and feel the vibrations emitting from his voice. Alexei rubs my back and runs a hand through my locs, soothing me.

    "Pet, I'm going to ask you some things and I need you to be honest with me." His tone darkens a bit and I have a few ideas of what he wants to know.

        "I promise."

            "Who was that boy you went on a date with and why did you go?"

    "His name is Bennett and he is a very nice man who asked me. We had a lot of fun and I didn't think you were coming back, let alone coming back for me. I needed to move on from you. How did you even know about that?" I lift my head and scrunch up my nose.
