theo put his phone down and turned his attention back to the girl still crying on his shoulder. her cries were silent now, just tears falling onto her brothers sleeve.

and he was okay with it.

"amie," the boy started. "what really happened with you and damiano?"

at this the girl lifted her head up, her puffy under eyes and cloudy irises being the first thing he noticed. he got her a tissue out of the box that sat on the coffee table and dried up her face a little, giving her another to blow her nose with.

"teddy, it's a long story." she told him, her eyes full of sadness.

"luckily i don't have anywhere to be. and all you have ever told me about that boy is that you dated."

"oh teddy. it was so bad. he hurt me. he was so mean to me."

"amie. tell me everything." he deadpanned, knowing he didn't like this but wanted to know everything to support his little sister.

"when i went to italy for my big job opportunity i met many famous people, damiano being one of them. he was so sweet to me, i thought he was perfect. he was gorgeous. then he asked me out to dinner. i said yes, thinking it would go amazing. and it did. it really, really did. the first two years of the relationship were amazing. then it started going downhill. he started being so rude teddy. he was saying things about my body, how i was fat and had to lose weight, i was ugly, no one would ever want me and that he deserved a prettier girl."

"oh amie. you know none of that's true right?"

"yeah, i guess." she paused and took a deep breath.

"then when i did anything wrong, like forgetting something or making the wrong food, he would hit me. he told me i deserved it and id he didn't do it i would never learn. and i believed him." tears were falling off of her rosey cheeks

theo wiped the tears with his thumb and kissed her forehead. "amelia, you should've told me." he said with a frown on his face.

"teddy, i didn't know there was anything wrong with it. i thought i deserved it. i thought it was normal. he always made me cover them up, no matter what. i made a song, little bit. it was about how i was in love with him and he wasn't in love with me and how i just gave my body to him. it's not funny it's tragic."

"amie.." he spoke softly, trying to comfort her without stopping her talking.

"and he found out, and took the song. he didn't let me keep it. he sang over some of it and is calling it his now. i hate him theo. i hate him so much." she finished, starting to sob again.

he hugged her gently, stroking her hair and trying to help her.

"amie you'll have to show me your messages." he whispered, making her nod in agreement.
