"Yeah?" I look down and see her waters broke

"Yeah?" I look down and see her waters broke.

"It hurts." Stella holds her bump and bends over.

Frankie begins to gag. "I'll cheer you from a distance girlie." He rushes off to Blaze and I see him stand by the slide.

"Let's get you in clean clothes." I help Stella as she slowly moves and begins breathing hard.

"Jade." She barely gets out. "There is so much pressure. I thought there was still time."

My eyes widen and Max runs to open the door for us.

"I am not a catcher."  My voice goes to a higher pitch.

"You're a doctor." Stella glares at me.

"Not at baby one." My hands begin to shake some at the thought of having to deliver this baby. No, I will get her to the hospital and I will not panic.

"It is supposed to hurt this much?" Stella grunts and I snap as panic fills me and I let her arm go and scoop her up bridal style.

I lay her on the end of our bed and help remove her wet shorts. I grab clean ones and one of the pads she instructs me to get. As she pauses due to the pain, it sends the panic in me to a new level with how fast it is moving now. Though I know water breaking can move things along much faster for some ladies.

"We need to go." I help her stand after we get the clean clothes on and pick her up after slinging the bag on my shoulder. At this point, Stella is likely to have a clumsy moment and I don't want her or the baby hurt.

As soon as we step out of the room, I see Max by the front door and he opens it for us. "Good luck!" He waves as I get Stella in the car and closes the front door. I get the car in drive and we make our way to the hospital.

"How are you doing?"

"Just wanting to stand, sitting is hurting more down there." Stella breathes out with ease before gritting her teeth.

"Let me get a nurse to get a wheelchair, so I can park the car and meet you inside." I inform her as we are at the stop sign within the parking lot.

"No." She shakes her head. "I will walk in. It hurts so much sitting."

I park the car in the available slot close to the doors and get out, helping her out. She holds my arm as we walk and she stops twice before we get to the elevator for the floor she needs to be. Finally, we make it and the nurses show us to a room immediately while asking many questions. One nurse goes to help Stella undress as I do the same and the other is typing things on her tablet.

"Can we get you to lay on your back?" The nurse opposite of Stella asks after helping hooking her monitors up.

I assist Stella onto the bed and the nurse does her check before looking back to the other nurse. "Page her doctor." Then she pats Stella's knee. "You are at eight, so not much longer."

"Janice." The other nurse calls her name and they step outside the door.

I hold Stella's hand through another two contractions and she shakes her head. "Jade. The pressure is really starting to hurt."

"Do you need to stand?" I ask knowing it has seemed to be the best way for her to handle the pains.

"No, I think I need to push."

"Hold on." I race to the door where I see the nurses as they hadn't closed it completely. "She is feeling the urge to push already not fully dilated."

The one nurse's eyes widen. "But the only OB we have on duty is currently in a surgery and not able to make it. We only deliver in the instance a doctor can't make it, which is something I have never done."

Janice turns to me. "You can deliver the baby though." All the nurses have known I work in the ER as some even take shifts there to help out the floor.

I shake my head and Janice nods. "Yes, you can."

"I really can't."

Janice walks into the room as I hear Stella grunt once more and then I feel hands on my back before I am being pushed into the room and the door opening wide with a cart of the things needed.

"No. No. No. No. No. No. No."

"Jade?" Stella grits out as my hands shake.

"Your husband has to be the one to deliver your baby, our other doctor is caught up currently and this little one isn't going to wait." Janice moves the sheet and opens Stella's legs. "Try not to push just yet, let your body do it naturally."

"I didn't even get the option of medication." Stella huffs, as I am being pulled by the pushy nurse before she starts the water at the sink.

"Wash your hands so I can glove you up."

I go through the hand wash properly but I can't seem to comprehend the situation. Pushy nurse continues moving me around the room and placing the gloves on.

"Push him over here." Stella's voice is the only one I pay attention too as my brain is blanking from all else.

A hard smack sounds through the room and my cheek hurts. "Jade Envoy! You snap out of the panic or shock and get ready to be the baby catcher. I know you didn't want to and this is a fear of yours but there aren't other options currently."

Blinking my eyes, I shake my head and sit in the chair. The section was short for me in residency but I do know the main part. With my cheek stinging from the slap I needed, the pushy nurse stands to my side while Janice coaches Stella.

"You done perfectly." I breathe looking at Stella as she holds our daughter and the blanket covering her.

"So did you." Stella leans over and kisses my lips.

After the quick kiss, I chuckle. "Only because my wife slapped me from the panic."

Stella gives a sheepish smile. "Sorry."

"Don't be. I needed that."

The other doctor came in right as I was finishing a couple stitches that Stella needed and checked over her while the nurses checked over the baby. They both have a clean bill of health and now we are alone in the room.

"Though, I seriously never want to deliver anymore babies."

Stella laughs and looks down at our daughter as she begins to wiggle around lightly. Her little eyes looking up at Stella. Stella rubs over her little cheek before smiling. "Welcome to the world...."
