It was the night of the talent show and the nerves were really getting to me. I was trying to calm myself down but I just couldn't. All the overthinking was not helping either. I took many deep breaths, closed my eyes and just thought of some questions to help me. What can I smell? My rose perfume. What do I taste? The mint from my toothpaste. What do I feel? I feel the fabric of my dress on my legs, my hair along my back and the jewelry on my fingers, around the neck and wrist. I reopened my eyes and I felt normal enough. I wiped my sweaty hands on the towel on my floor and stood up to the mirror.
I looked at myself and admired my dress, it was my mother's and she said it was finally time for me to wear it since it's something she wore for her recital for her talent show where not only was where she met my father. I adjusted the dress and saw my mother come in. She looked at me up and down before walking towards me, she grabbed my arm and held it. "You look beautiful." She said as she looked at me from the mirror. I never understood her, one day she is yelling at me and the other she is really nice. "You are going to do great, Nora. You never disappoint, don't you." I stood silent and she kissed my temple and walked out of my room. I guess it's time for the show.
I collect all of my stuff and went downstairs where my parents were awaiting in the car for me, and the car ride there was silent as expected. Then soon we arrived at the school and I got out with all of my stuff where I saw Christian talking to Fernando and his parents. I rather to avoid them but my parents would kill me so I'm just going to do a quick hello then walk into the school. So I did, I walked over to them and I saw Fernando looked at me immediately. "Hi, everyone..." I said awkwardly waving. Fernando's parents gave me a glare and walked past me to my parents. "Well don't you look nice, Nora. Dont you agree, Nando" Christian said as he raised his eyebrows towards Fernando. I'm still not over for what he did so I didn't pay no mind to him. "Yeah...you look great." He said as he gave me a soft smile. And I'm still not over last night but just for now I have to forget about it.
Fernando checked his watch and said, "you should be getting backstage it's almost time." I checked the time and Fernando was right. I thanked him before he said one more thing to me. "Good luck out there, Nora." I sighed and walked into the school and towards the backstage where lots of other students were there getting their stuff prepared. I went over to an empty table to put my stuff down where Rika and Olive were at. "Omg, Nora. You look great!" Olive squealed while Reka nodded her head. I smiled at them as I began taking out my violin. "So, are you excited to show off your soon to be man." Olive winked.
"Although he seems like kinda odd, he seems like he really likes you." Rika added. Which made me think. I haven't even seen Rigel at all, he said he was going to be here before me and I haven't seen him at all. "Speaking of him, have you seen him?" I asked. They shook their head and I could feel my heart racing. Do you think he will show up? Did something happen to him? Maybe he is late? Oh no. Oh no.Oh no. "Maybe he is running late. Now we got to go. Mrs, Morgan is already kicking out everyone who is not apart of the show." Olive said. I nodded and they both gave me thumbs up before exiting backstage. Now the show really begins.
