The next morning, Gacha Bakery was really busy. We had a special deal, and lots of people came in to try our new treats. I felt both excited and a bit worried. I needed to stay focused and avoid mistakes.
Lisa was taking orders, calm as always. Hendry was having fun, making customers laugh with his silly jokes.
"What's up, folks? Try our new skibidi bop blueberry muffins!" he called out, making everyone chuckle.
I smiled and got to work. Orders were coming in fast, and I moved quickly to keep up. Everything was going fine until I heard Lisa say,
"Komiku, we need a dozen mixed donuts and a large cappuccino for table five!"
"Got it!" I replied, quickly putting together the order. I grabbed a box and filled it with donuts, then made the cappuccino. In my rush, I didn't notice I had picked the wrong box of donuts.
As I handed the order to the server, the door chimed. I looked up and saw Mika walk in. My heart skipped a beat, but I stayed focused. I couldn't mess up again.
A few minutes later, a customer from table five came to the counter, looking annoyed.
"Hey, this isn't what we ordered," she said, holding up the box. "We asked for mixed donuts, not just plain ones."
My heart sank. "I'm so sorry. Let me fix it right away."
I felt my hands shaking as I tried to get the right order. Lisa noticed and came over.
"It's okay, Komiku. Just take a deep breath and focus."
I nodded, taking a moment to calm down. With Lisa's help, we quickly fixed the order and sent it out. The customer seemed okay, but I felt terrible.
Then another customer came up.
"Hey, I ordered a latte, not an espresso."
Before I could answer, someone else said,
"And I asked for a blueberry muffin, not a chocolate one."
I felt panic rising as more customers came with complaints. It seemed like every order was wrong. I tried to stay calm, saying sorry and fixing each mistake as fast as I could. Lisa and Hendry were doing their best to help, but it was really hard.
Just as I started to calm down, Mika came to the counter.
"I'll take a cappuccino and a blueberry muffin," she said, sounding a bit annoyed.
"Coming right up," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. I made her order carefully, double-checking everything before handing it to her. She took the cup and muffin, looking at them closely.
"This is a plain muffin," she said, frowning.
My heart sank even more. "I'm so sorry, Mika. I'll get you the right one."
She sighed and rolled her eyes. "You really need to get it together."
I hurried to get the correct muffin, feeling tears in my eyes. I handed it to her, mumbling another apology.
She took it without a word and went to her usual spot by the window. I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm.
Hendry came over, sensing I was upset.
"Hey, it's just one of those days. Don't let it get you down."
Lisa nodded. "We've all had days like this, Komiku. Just keep going. We'll get through it."
Their support helped, and I focused on getting through the rest of the rush. Slowly, things started to settle down. We fixed the remaining orders, and the customers seemed more forgiving once they saw how hard we were trying.
As we closed up for the day, Hendry came over with his usual grin.
"You did good today, Komiku. Remember, it’s all part of the job."
Lisa joined us, smiling. "He's right, Komiku. We all make mistakes. Just keep learning and improving."
I smiled weakly. "Thanks, guys. I appreciate it."
