Smok wouldn't have gone far, it was only less than two minutes since Albina had abandoned Snynnister. Albina walked through the hallways and patient rooms but Smok was nowhere to be found. She walked around very slowly and quietly even though she expected the doctor to pop out of nowhere. For some strange reason, the lights were much brighter than usual – must have been John and Dionyz's doing. John and Dionyz! Were they still okay? Albina dialed them.

"John and Dionyz?" greeted Albina.

"I'm still here." answered Dionyz.

"How is everything going?"

"I am down here with John operating the generators but I got word from Ravi that someone ratted us out, then I heard gunshots and communications broke. I haven't been caught yet but I don't know if the others have been caught. I can't get a signal from Thomas, I am stuck here and I don't know where to go."

"Dionyz," instructed Albina "I don't know what's going on either, but if I lose signal with you or if you know that the guards will be coming after you, get out of there or hide somewhere. Do you understand?"

"Understood Ma'am" Dionyz responded as he signed off.

Albina put her walkie-talkie into her pocket and looked around the hallway. Smok wasn't there but she pulled out her double-bladed weapon anyway. To the left she saw a door that said "D. Smok" so Albina quickly sprinted to the door as fast as she could. She burst through the door but he wasn't there. The room had a couple cabinets, a closet, a restroom, a desk and a bed. Albina kneeled down and checked under the desk but he wasn't there. As she got up, she found Smok to be two feet away from the desk. He looked angry and had a gun pointed at her. She ducked as Smok shot bullets; he missed and made holes in the wall. Then there was a sound of running feet. Albina got up and saw that Smok was gone.

Boy, is he a coward. She thought to herself as she darted out of the room.

Smok was running farther and farther away but this did not stop Albina. She forced herself to run faster even though her legs were feeling sore; so she ran faster by taking bigger steps. Because of the disease that Smok gave her, her symptoms were turning on and off; she started feeling hot despite the fact that the hospital was underground and it was chilly. Why now when she was chasing Smok? It probably was too late to stop Smok but even if it was, taking the doctor out of the way was still an option. Without him giving orders, the guards would have no idea what to do and escape would be easier.

Smok was running toward a stairway that lead to the second floor. Albina was getting closer to the Doctor but she was farther than two arm-lengths away from him. He burst into the metal stairway with the doors swinging behind him. In ten seconds, Albina burst through the doors and saw that Smok had already covered a quarter of the concrete staircase. The teen was feeling hot and tired so she took ten seconds to take a deep breath and rest. Three. Smok has already covered a third of the steps. Two. Albina took a last deep breath. One. She breathed out and started on the first step. She raced down the steps as quickly as she could but that didn't take away the fact that the man has already covered half of the steps. Her heart skipped a beat as she felt her foot slip...

The next second, the world was around and around and pain shot out from all of her sides. A concrete stair one second and the ceiling the next. Albina almost forgot where she was and what was going on. After a couple more painful seconds she was at the bottom of the staircase lying down on her back. Her whole entire body ached so much that it was hard to move. She lay there for a couple seconds before slowly getting up. She looked around to find Smok but he was gone... again.

She straightened her back and held on to the railing so that she wouldn't fall. She just realized that she lost her double-bladed weapon! What did it matter now? There was no time to look for it. Albina then saw through the window of the metal doors that Smok was standing far away and standing forward.
