"Good morning, cheesecake!" I smiled as I nodded my head at my nephew who never fail to annoy me.

"I still can't beat you when it comes to coming here." Lucas' chirpy personality shining as I handed him his apron.

"What can I say, I am punctual." I joked as I heard him snorted, carrying the trays of bread inside the kitchen for him to cook it. I am almost done prepping all of the breads for today, from cupcakes to croissant and sweets to our drinks.

"I know, you literally have a medal for being punctual all your life." I laugh as I nodded my head even though I am aware that he could not see me. Checking the time in the clock wall.

Another hour and I'll be switching the closed sign into open.

The sun slowly rising, its rays going through the glass walls of my cafe making it look magical especially with the colorful glass decor I have everywhere.

"I'm just glad summer is here so I could help out my old aunt." I glare at Lucas as he made his way to the cupcakes I made to put it into display. Taking the croissant with him to the kitchen.

"I'm 24, Lucas, I am not old!" I yell at him, but only received a sarcastic laugh.

"And I'm 16, almost done with senior year! You're old." I laugh as I shook my head.

After finishing my study, got my license in teaching, I took the money from the will my parents have left for me and build my own cafe.

I know. Why take that course when I am not even going to use that?

Well, guess what sweetheart. I had a change of mind and heart, and it was most likely what my parents wanted because they were also teachers themselves, following their footstep as they call it.

My other siblings were hardheaded though, my older brother and sister did what they wanted to do, and I could not bring myself to break my parents' old hearts yet again, so I took Bachelor of Secondary Education major in science.

My father owned a lot of properties that he inherited from his mother, who passed away 2 decades ago, and my father divided those properties into 3. You could tell we are living the best life.

"I'm all done, cheese aunt." I laugh at this as Lucas took out the freshly baked goods. I stood up and walked to the door to flip the sign on it, I opened it and feel the refreshing feeling of the sun's heat that I hope won't be too hot today.

Living in a semi-rural and urban town is not too bad at all, trees are still present everywhere and it's good for the business since I'm literally the first cafe here that has an instagramable scene and aura.

"I still can't believe; mother would be on her 50's while you are in your 20's." I nodded my head.

Lucas is my sister's youngest son; she has 7 kids with her husband that died when Lucas was 12, it was devastating, no one could ever deny that, but he was loved and was loving wholeheartedly. I believe he lived his life to the fullest and I know Lucas has all of the love he needed, and he understand that humans... die.

"You know how unplanned I am." I told him, getting out of my head.

My mom was on her late 40s when she finds out she was pregnant by me, everyone was excited and worried, my aunts and uncles actually told my mom to have an abortion because it could cost her life. My father was not happy about it, resulting on cutting off those who suggested it.

And here I am. Another human on earth.

"You tell me that like all of the time so how would I not know?" I laugh as I point at the first customer today.
