I was running around, trying to finish task after task as my heart pump widely in my chest. I don't know why I was nervous. Is it the fact that I would be seeing Ash or maybe because this is my first time doing this huge delivery.
"Just 2 more boxes and we are done." I assure myself as I watch Lucas, Eva, Shaid and Mack put icing and decorating the cupcakes with attention to detail and making sure that they don't mess up, and also preparing the empanada that needs to be deliver in two hours.
"Your phone has been ringing nonstop, cheese aunt." I was pulled out of my trance as I look at Eva with my phone on her hand.
"Shit, I didn't hear it." She chuckled as I look at the name who's calling, slightly disappointed that it's not the person I thought of. I tap the screen answering it and walking away from the kids.
"Hey Sara, good morning." I spoke.
"Good morning, Mila. Papers have arrived today and is just waiting for you." She intoned as background noises of kids echoed through the phone that made me laugh.
"Well, I'll be there when I'm done with my work at the cafe."
"Okay then, I will not be holding you off. See you, Mila. Is it okay for you to bring empanada as well? We will pay once you're here. If that's okay?" Unsureness can be heard on her voice as I chuckled and nodded my head.
"Yes, yes of course, no problem." I spoke, realizing I'm on a phone call.
"We're done!" I look up to see the relief on Lucas' face that made me chuckle.
"I'll see you soon, Sara." I spoke and hang up after bidding goodbye with her.
I look at the time on my phone seeing that we have exactly the time we needed to get to the address that Ash have sent us.
"Shaid, can you order something for lunch? I'll pay for it and the rest of us will be loading all of the goodies into our van and once the food is here, we will eat on the way, it would be a 30 minutes' drive since the address Ash have sent us is on the next barangay." I told them as they all nodded.
I arranged all of the baked goodies while the other three get it, it's important that we don't squish them and most definitely not to mess them up. My van is gigantic though, it's kind of a family van than a delivery one, it has been customized to my preferences and I am glad I have installed storage rack so arranging the products won't be a hassle.
"And that's the last of it." Eva said and the timing was right when a food delivery arrived stating my name.
"Lucas get my wallet." Lucas was fast to run back inside my house to retrieve the said item.
"Here you go and take the change." I gave him 2 thousand pesos as Lucas and Mack took the food and started to walk towards the van.
"Ma'am it's too much. You would be giving 749 pesos and that's a lot." I could only smile as I wave my hands and left the delivery woman who looks like in tears, she smiled and waved at us before leaving.
"Well, let's get going, did you lock the house, Eva?"
"Yeah, here's your key, cheese aunt." I took the key out of her hand as I started the van.
Throughout the ride we were eating the much-needed lunch, there was none to never traffic around our town as you could count those who own a vehicle, which I am glad as it is good for the environment.
"So... Ash huh?" I look at Eva briefly before bringing my attention back to the road.
"Lucas told me everything." She sings song.
