Horror Hotel

Chapter 2

They aren't sure how long it took but everyone managed to somehow enter the dimly lit hotel. Even though they were covered in blood, the musty smell of old papers fills the air quickly. The flickering flame of the candle casting eerie shadows. Lach peers over the reception desk seeing folders everywhere. Papers of missing people, important forms and health documents.

"Ew, what is this place?" "How could I know?" Katana snaps back as she walks around causing the floorboards to creak under her feet. The feeling of unease hangs in the air. KitKat, Bella, Kimmy & Anubis scanned the room. An envelope falls from the mail slot. Kimmy picks it up and slowly tears it open, a bit of anxiety rushes into her mind. It was a missing person poster, Kimmy sighs with relief. "Katie?" Lach says with a slight confused look. "I'm guessing this is the latest victim?" KitKat says reading the poster. Bella nods, her chest still aching from earlier. "What now?" Anubis asks. Then another envelope falls from the mail slot. Kimmy picks it up off the floor and tears it open. She gently pulls the letter out "Welcome to Horror Hotel?" Anubis laughs "What the fuck is Horror Hotel" Everyone's eyes scan the letter. 

Then a key gets tossed against Katana's leg "Ow" Katana says sarcastically as she picks it up. A tag labeled 'Room 1' was dangling on a piece of twine. Katana searches down the hallway for 'Room 1' "There it is" "What is?" KitKat says looking down the hallway. "Room 1" Katana walks to the door where there was a pit drawn on it. "Blood?" Kimmy looks at the drawing.

 Katana pushes the key into the lock and twisting it gently. Nothing moves. She twists the key with a bit more force and hears a lock unlock. The door slides open followed by spiders crawling out. Slowly they all walk into the room. 

Signs. A Lot of them, some reading 'Danger' 'Wrong way' or just have arrows on them but they all have something in common. "Are those written in blood?" Kimmy asks intrigued. "I think so" Bella squeaks, still traumatized from what happened earlier. KitKat feels a gush of wind go by her. Strange, they were in an enclosed building. She turns around and finds that Anubis & Kimmy aren't standing behind her anymore "Guys?" KitKat looks back at Katana, Lach & Bella.

 "They're gone" Bella whips her head around quickly to find no one standing there, Katana looks around the room stressed. Lach searches around the room. Then a familiar smell intrigues Katana. Chlorine. Katana turns and sees a pit full of water. On the other side was Anubis & Kimmy. "There they are," Katana sighs with relief and points to the bottom of the pit. "How do we get them?" KitKat asks the following where Katana points. Lach shrugs and spots what looks like two half solved puzzles. 

A letter was placed in between them. Lach walks and reaches for the letter but Bella snatches it "I see how it is" Lach sighs while Bella has it. Bella's eyes quickly scan the letter. "Alright, who here can swim?" Bella announces to the others. "Me?" Katana says looking into the pit. "Alright, we've got our swimmer, KitKat & Lach you guys do the puzzle. Anubis & Kimmy should be drawing the missing pieces, Katana will swim down there and grab them" Bella finishes reading. Katana nods and takes her jacket off and dives into the water. It was room temperature water which is strange because there was no source of heat in the room at all. Katana takes a deep breath and swims to the bottom of the pit. Kimmy hands her what looks like a drawn puzzle piece. Katana swims back to the top and hands it to KitKat.

 KitKat places the piece where it looked like it would go then a timer appears. "There's a timer now?" Lach sighs looking at the timer "Hurry Katana, we only have half an hour" Bella says with a hint of urgency. Anubis & Kimmy continue to draw, Katana continues to swim and retrieve puzzle pieces, Lach and KitKat work together to complete the puzzles, all of them racing against the clock.
