JJ woke up slightly panicked from something compressing her chest. It took her a minute to realise she had a face full of dark hair, meaning the weight on top of her was none other than Emily Prentiss. Emily would never admit it, but she was a huge cuddler. JJ didn’t complain mostly, but sometimes, Emily just couldn’t seem to get close enough. She’d keep shifting until she either pushed JJ out of the bed completely, in which case JJ would just climb over the sleeping woman and get back in bed on the other side, or Emily would end up on top of her. Emily was slightly smaller than her, and although JJ was strong enough to lift the agent under normal circumstances, the sleeping form atop her was almost impossible to move. She could try to go back to sleep, but she decided on a little payback first. She shifted her lower body until she could slip a leg in between Emily’s. The dark haired agent blew out a puff of air as JJ made contact, JJ felt the heat radiating off of Emily’s body. She pressed her leg up harder, and rolled her hips once; Emily let out a soft moan. She loved the sound, so she did it again, the moan got louder. JJ moved her hands around Emily’s back, and pulled the sleeping agent closer to her body. Emily’s hips rolled against her and she felt a flutter in her lower belly. JJ was just wondering if she should wake Emily up when their alarms went off. “I was just starting to enjoy that.” Emily said suddenly, JJ laughed. Of course the woman was awake. “Shower?” JJ husked, “Shower.” Emily replied.

JJ had thought Emily would be more nervous, at least more nervous than her, but Emily was the poster child for calm that morning. Strauss would be back from her two month vacation that day.  “How are you so calm?” she asked, hopping around to get her shoes on and her hair brushed. They had spent a little too much time in the shower, and they were well on their way to being late. “Everything will be fine.” Emily tried to reassure her, but it only made her more nervous, she had to be nervous enough for the both of them. She was visibly shaking in the elevator up to the BAU, she was having trouble controlling her breathing. Emily held her hand until the doors opened, she felt empty after Emily had let go. They found Isabella at her desk, “Hey, You guys ready? She’s here, so we can get it over with.” Isabella looked as calm as Emily did, Great, she thought, now she had to be nervous enough for all three of them.

Emily knocked on Strauss’ door with purpose, she didn’t wait for an invitation to enter. Strauss looked up from her desk, the annoyance evident upon seeing her intruder. JJ and Isabella followed Emily in, Isabella closed the door behind them. “We have something to discuss with you, ma’am.” Emily started, Strauss managed to look more annoyed at Emily’s voice. “What is the problem?” Emily looked at Isabella, then at JJ; JJ saw the nervousness she had been searching for that morning in Emily’s eyes. “No problems, ma’am. We need to report some interpersonal relationships, so they don’t cause problems later.” JJ could swear she saw a glimmer of hope in Strauss’ eyes, she most likely thought she would be handed her excuse to send Emily somewhere they’d never find her again. “Relationships, plural?” Strauss rested her elbows on her desk and leaned forward; she suddenly looked a lot more interested in the conversation, it made JJ’s skin crawl. Isabella opened up first, “Yes. I know you’ve read my file, so you know I’m adopted. By some serendipitous cosmic mix-up, it turns out that Emily, uh, Agent Prentiss, is my birth mother.” Strauss looked like she had been smacked across the face with a wet fish. She said nothing, so Emily picked up the conversation, “I had a baby when I was 15. I gave her up, I got her back.” Emily gave Isabella a small smile. “And this has what to do with you, Agent Jareau?” Strauss asked after a moment, “That’s the second relationship we need to report. Emily and I are dating, have been dating for two years.” JJ emphasised her statement by taking Emily’s hand in hers. Strauss sat back in her chain and stared at the three of them for what felt like ages before she spoke, “Well, relationships between team members are not permitted in my units. It makes you incapable of rational decisions in the field.” Emily interrupted her, “Ma’am, with all due respect, we have been doing our jobs perfectly well for the past two years JJ and I have been together, and for the past year since finding out who Isabella is, there has not been a single questionable decision on any of our parts.” JJ saw Isabella discreetly do something on her phone while Strauss was talking with Emily, her attention was pulled back when Strauss answered, “So you say, Agent Prentiss, but as I stated, I will not allow it in my units. The most logical solution would be to transfer Agent Prentiss to…” she was interrupted by her phone loudly announcing its presence. Isabella nodded in its direction, “You should answer that before you go on, Ma’am. It might be important.” The door swung open to reveal Strauss’ assistant, “That’s Director Walsh on the line for you ma’am. He said it couldn’t wait.” Strauss looked to Isabella, then JJ, then Emily. JJ held her breath as Strauss picked up the phone. “Director, what can I do for you?”
