transported to 90s !! i don't want to die

Tomorrow was a special day for India naina was very excited to witness such an proud moment. She turned to Arjun "where should we stay ". Naina missed her cellphone. She could check all hotels and prices near her. Arjun didn't knew much about the place.  They only had ten rupees left. Both of them went to the waiting room and sat there. Naina missed her comfy bed. There was an fan hovering above at slow speed. She took out the biscuits and gave some to Arjun.
Both sat silently there. It was not at all hard for Arjun who had survived in adverse conditions before. But for naina it was hell. Her butt was hurting due to the rough wooden bench. She had no place to keep her head.

People in this era were really tough. She put her head on Arjun's shoulder not feeling awkward at all , it was better than nothing. Arjun looked at naina  who was at pins and needles. 'spoiled child'. Naina felt sleepy as her eyes closed . She suddenly opened her eyes and looked at Arjun.

Cherry blossom -" both of them are so cute together".

Poisonous snake-" the girl is really childish".

Silky -"upstairs don't you dare talk bad anything about her".

Naina said "Arjun I was thinking of going to my mother's home, maybe they will believe me".
Arjun looked at her as if she was an idiot .
Naina pouted "don't give me that look , do you have any other idea. And btw you never told me your home state ".
Arjun-"I am from Goa".
Naina was shocked -" you must have an amazing life , you even work in some drama group".

Hearing this Arjun gave her a confused look . Naina proudly said "i guessed it from the costume you were wearing".
Arjun shook his head at her ignorance. "Oh by the way how old are you , I am eighteen ".
Arjun -"twenty six".
Naina widened her eyes -"you are very older than me ".

"Then it's decided we will go to UP tommorow morning ". Then she again put her head on his shoulders fell asleep. Arjun was also sleepy and fell asleep . The next morning both of them freshened up. It was noises all around the sound of radio , the voice of indian prime minister could be heard from it . Naina was really excited she was also amazed at the crowd at the railway station. Arjun looked at the crowd of people and knew that trouble was also coming.

He held onto naina's hand tightly and bent to her " don't leave my hands , no matter how trouble is there." Naina nodded repeatedly . She knew there would be riots. They don't have a place to stay and left with no choice they have to leave. Naina and Arjun boarded the train. Luckily there was no movement till five hours. They just had two more hours left. At this moment the train stopped at a station . Arjun suddenly stood up held naina's hand tightly and almost ran like a cheetah. He opened the bathroom door after getting in he locked the door. He gestured her to be silent. Naina nodded. Then there were shouts outside Arjun stood against the door like a pole. Naina could hear the wails of pain from outside . People were knocking on the door but she knew that if they opened it both of them will die.

She covered her ears tightly. Arjun looked at the frightened girl in front of him he just now observed some people who were coming towards their train . Arjun felt a bit weird by the way they were behaving. As an army man he always trusted his intuition at the time of danger. He knew he could do nothing to help others these were his own countrymen fighting with each other moreover he had someone to protect aside from himself.

After everything was calm outside Arjun looked out of the gap in the door. He still didn't open the door . They waited in that bathroom for two full hours. As the train finally stopped on Lucknow station police and doctors were already standing there. He opened the door as Naina got out side. She froze on spot there was blood everywhere some people were lying on floor dead or alive. They didn't even leave small children . Some were wailing from pain. Blood was crawling on her feet.

Naina felt that her body had lost strength. Her face was pale and lips were bloodless. Arjun quickly came and covered her eyes . He quickly supported her out of the train. He sat her down on a chair. Naina was trembling that bloody scene was still appearing in front of her eyes like a movie.

Arjun -" we are lucky that they didn't put the train on fire".
Naina looked at him shocked tears welled up in her eyes she hugged him "you are heartless". Arjun patted her on head he didn't know how to comfort a crying child. "Yes, I am very heartless".
"How can those people do that there were also small children. Thay couldn't even express their pain."
As the medical personnel carried bodies off the train naina hid her face in Arjun's head tears streaming down.

"Arjun if we had taken the children with us would they have been saved".
Arjun-" do you really think that if I did that , people would offer their children to us and we would have been able to escape like this. If I had softened my heart at that time we both would have died ".

They sat there for almost half an hour.
Naina said -"how did you know that there was danger".
Arjun hesitated -"I am an army man and I must look out for every little detail."
Naina gave him a pat on his shoulders and said "you are really well versed in your role of army man".
Arjun-"I am really in army ".
Naina gave him a look "okay okay". She replied purfunctrly.

Arjun felt that at sometime she seemed so smart and sometimes she is so idiotic. Naina stood up . She had a look of determination on her face . She turned to arjun-"let's go ".
