Sayaka Shimono's Route

A few days have passed since we went to the spa resort ..
I've started regularly going to th3 hospital as a volunteer.
"Well then, I leave it to you, Ms. Shimino and Mr. Natsume. Today will be really busy, so keep it it together." Chief Nurse tell us. After that, Sayaka whispers to me .. "Tha nks, Natsume. For coming again to help out today .." I've been attending the hospital recently, hoping I can be even be a little help. And Sayaka also said sometjhing. "Well then, .. let's do our best again today." Smiling  and nodding at each other, we begun helping in the hospital. But ..

"Hey, Ms. Shimono! You put this patient's sheet away in the wrong place! And, when supporting the patient earlier, you staggered again! Everybody strugles with some jobs, but .. keep it together to overcome it, okay?" Sayaka's training remains in a slump. Like everyday, she's getting scolded, and making mistakes .. 's-sayaka! Although you got some real rest at the spa resort a bit ago ..' said to my mind. It's not like that alone is going to make her work improve over night. A-anyway, you just have to keep trying until you get used to it. While I think this, continue my job. Just then ..

"Oh my ..? Ms. Shimono? Your faces isa bit discolored, are you alright?" When I look at Sayaka .. her face definitely seems a little pale. I hurriedly finish my job, and rush over. I ask her if she feel sick. Sayaka lowers her head to the chief nurse, with an uneasy face. "S-sorry .. I'm had a headache since this morning .." she's apologize that she didn't tell us that she's feel a bit headache from the first. "Well! I see. I apologize that I didn't notice. You can leave your work here for today, and rest well in the staff waiting room." Like that, I enter the waiting room, carrying Sayaka for a moment, I set my completely exhausted girlfriend in a chair. I say cherfully, wanting her feel better somehow, and Sayaka gives a small smile, too. I get some medicine from the waiting room's First Aid Kit. Without forgetting water, I hand it to her with a cup.

"I'm .. not .. good .. if I aim to be a nurse .. I need to be able to do this kind of self-management. I .. really miggt not be suited to this work .." she drops her shoulders, and I gently speak to her .. "You just impatient  right now, Sayaka .. if you gradually get used to the work, I think you'll be fine .."  I softly ait next to Sayaka, who looks anxious and take her head. "Let's keep with it, Sayaka."so that Sayaka won't give up, I'm encouraged her many times while we're together in the hospital.
. . . But .. one day ---- there's an incident ..

A few days later .. I'm in the hispital with Sayaka, helping out again. While I'm on the roof, drying off the doctor's white coats .. "Huh! Natsume, may I have a moment?" Sayaka comes to the roof in a  panic. "A patient with a foot injury wants to go to tge first floor lobby, but .. the hospital elevator seems a bit bad at the moment. So, I want to bring him down with a stairs .. can you lend a hand?" She's need my help to bring down the patient to the first floor, and I help her out. So, I come to the front of the stairs. Sayaka and I support the foot injury patient together. Supporting the patient, we slowly decend the stairs. When .. Sayaka's legs are a little shaky. I try somehow to support the patient, even so, but .. 'A-at this rate, Sayaka might fall down the stairs!!!' Said to myself. "U-umm! Sayaka! Stop for a second .." the next moment! "L-Look out! Sayaka!" In an instant, I protect the patient, and Sayaka who seems like she might fall downstarirs. When .. "whoa!?" Just like that, my footing slips! My fall from the stairs, and hit the landing, flat on my back .. my head throbs, with a pain and shock, I can't move my body.

"------Natsume!" As I look where the voice is coming from .. Sayaka is staring into my face, tears are welling up in her eyes. "Natsume! I'm so sorry! B-because of me!" My whole body hurts like death. But, seeing Sayaka's weeping face hurts my heart even more. (I-I'm alright, Sayaka.) My voice won't come out .. "Natsume! Hang on! Huh! What do I do!" (I said I'm alright ..) "Natsume!" (Sayaka .. I begging you. Please don't cry so much ..) To brink of losingconscious, I think of Sayaka. My memory stops there. The next moment, my consciousness falls deep into darkness, and I'm not aware of anything ..

. . . ( ... ...) "Hmm ..?" My eyes blink open. What unfolds before my gaze is an unfamilliar white ceiling. (I'm .. lying in the bed ..? Wait, where is this ..?) And then .. "-----Natsume!" "Wha!? " Sayaka abruptly fills my vision. "Huh .. Natsume, you're awake!?" Aoi .. "A-Are you alright, Natsume!" Mitsuka .. "Huh? Huh?" I'm surrounded by Famille members, who are still crying. Confused, I survey the area. "E-Everyone? Why are you here .. err where am I ..?" "Y-You don't remember!? Natsume, you fell down the stairs, saving me and the  patient!" Hearing it, my memory finally resurfaces. When I try to hurry out of bed .. "Ouuuuuch!?" I feel the pain again. "Wait, Natsume! You can't get up!" Sayaka try to push me lying back on the bed. "D-Don't you know what shape your body is in!?" Aki said to me. "Natsume, you broke your arm and legs" Ren tell me. "Huhh!"

When I look at my own body, my left arm and right leg in casts. "Th-This happened when I fell diwn the stairs!?" I'm really shock and look to Sayaka. "Y-Yeah ., we did emergency treatment at the hospital where we working, but .. you were brought to this large hospital, Natsume, because it has so many sickroom." She tell me, that I were brought to the differemt hospital. I notice open hearing, isn't the hospital we were working in, this place seems much larger than that one. "We got word from Sayaka, and  rushed here."Ren said. "I wasn't sure my heart could take it any longer! When I heard that you fell from the stairs, and were  seriously injured!" Aoi really is worried so much about me. Juat then, I suddenly realize. "T-that's right! Did the patient you were with didn't get hurt at all, Sayaka?" I look to Sayaka and ask her about that patient. "N-no .. that was alright .. but .. w-worry about yourself right now, Natsume! She answer that pateint was alright, and she yells at me. Then, Misaki interjects with a concerned face. "By the way .. The doctor says .. you hit your head hard when you fell from the stairs, Natsume .. it seems like you have a minor concussion. This time, the place of impact is okay, and you got an emergency treatment, so it's a.right .. but .. one wrong step and it would have been dangerous." She told me about my injured. "F-For real!?" I'm open-wide my eyes. "Yeah .. so we were really worried!" (Th-that I was in such a critical cindition ..) In such a shock that I go speechless ..

" ... I'm so sorry .. Natsume .. this is my fault! Sayaka apologize, that was her fault. "S-sayaka .." I look at her with a her sad face. " . . ." The Famille members are depressed by my serious injury. "Huh!" I don't want to see everybody with those faces. " ... I-I'm alright!" Sayaka looks at me with the rtears. I sahke off the shock of the injury, and act cheerful.  "I-I look increadibly hurt, but ..  It'll heal with rest, right!?" Misaki's answer me "Y-Yeah .. that's what the doctor says .." "Then, I'm fine! Don't be so worried, everyone! Look! I'm feeling suprisingly good .." When I say this, and move my arm .. "Huh!?" My arm hits it the bed handrail at full strength. "Ouuuch!?" I screamed on pain. "Woah!? Wait a second Natsume!?" Aoi try to stop me. "S-stupid! You can't cpmove it around too much!" Aki said not to move around, or the injury will be more risks. "Ouch .. N-No, I'm fine!" Try not to feel the pain. "T-that's not very convincing whe pn you your faces is pallid and dripping with a cold sweat .." Ren said too.
"Ugh! I-I guess not .. hahaha .." I laugh. "Jeez .. heh .." Aoi laugh and also Mitsuki too. "H-hahaha ..!" Seeing everyone's smiles return .. I take some relief. But .. "... ..." (H-huh?)

In the sickroom, having restored just a little calmness, Sayaka is the only one who still looks glooy. "S-Sayaka..?" I called her and also Misaki too. Misaki and the others also notice that Sayaka is depressed. Then, Sayaka prostares herself, and murmurs in a shaky voice. "I'm really am so sorry .. natsume. That this happened because of me .."  I said this to her "S-Sayaka, it's not your fault."  She still blaming herself again. "No.. It's my fault. I also endangered the patient with me .." Tears slowly gather in Sayaka's eyes. ".. .. I.. I'm really.. unsuited to nursing!" That's what she said. "S-Sayaka!?" Then, Sayaka takes a breath, as though she's finally come back to me. She puts on hurried smile, and faces everyone. "S-Sorry! For saying something weird .. Don't worry about it." Misaki really worried about her. "Sayaka.."  and sayaka say, "I-I'm alright! So for now, I'm so glad that you're safe, natsume." Sayaka says and flashes a smile .. But it's a smile that looks like it will crumble any moment. (S-sayaka ..) I'm not sure what to say .. so I just look at the fleeting crumbling smile.
