Daniels pov
Friday
school was over for today and today was my date with Shawn.
I was currently trying to deciding on what to wear.
I picked out a black shirt with a red and black flannel with black jeans and put my curly hair in a high ponytail with some little curls hanging out.
Shawn came and picked me up and we were now driving to Starbucks, the ride was silent until Shawn spoke up.
"you look beautiful, like always." he said a bit shyly.
"thanks, you don't look to bad yourself." I said blushing, he was wearing a blue button up shirt with also black jeans.
we arrived at Starbucks and went in and ordered but Shawn ordered for me because I told him what I always get a while ago and he surprisingly remembers.
we sat down at a seat close to the window and then a couple seconds later they called for our drinks and Shawn got them and his muffin he ordered.
he sat back down and gave me my drink and instantly took a bite of his muffin.
"you know Shawn you're pretty lucky. I don't do this date stuff." I told him. it's true I don't date anyone the few guys that have asked me out I've said no. I don't really believe in love, yes I know my parents "loved" eachother but they used to start getting into fights lately. my grandma and grandpa are divorced. my other grandma and grandpa didn't last because sadly my grandpa had died of cancer. nothing ever lasts as I see I think it's just like feeling something with the person living. but I wouldn't go as far as love. and I don't want my heart broken by some guy so I chose not to date or anything with guys. I simply just don't believe love.
"really?" he asked confused.
"yeah" I said and told him what I feel about this stuff also how it all starts with a date and then thinking it will he happily ever after but it never is.
"I don't really have any words.." Shawn said in shock.
"it's okay let's change the subject." I said and we started talking about some other random things until it got late and then he dropped me off home and right when I walked in my mom came running down the stairs.
"how was it!?" she said excited.
"calm down mom it was just like a hang out. oh and I don't think there will be anymore dates." I smiled while she stood with her jaw dropped.
"what do you mean no more dates!?" she said shocked.
"I told him about what I feel about the dates and stuff." I told her walking up to my room.
"Daniel rose Romary! why!?" she said following me up quickly.
"because I thought he should know" I said sitting on my bed.
"you can't just be alone for the rest of your life, you will be lonely once you get older and be living alone having no one to come home to, having no one to be eager to see, Daniel you can't do this forever you just have to accept the fact that you will someday love someone, and mabye Shawn." she said smirking at the end.
"ugh whatever mom I'm tired I'm gonna get ready for bed goodnight." I told her shooing her out of my room. I took a shower and changed into my pjs and went to sleep thinking of this "love" and like any other night weirdly; Shawn.
