It was the first day of classes and Sophia was preparing. The past week had been exciting as she made new friends on campus, particularly Jane, her roommate. Jane was the same age with Sophia but already in her sophomore year. She made Sophia feel comfortable and showed her around campus. They both got along really well and it felt like they had known each other before meeting at the university.

Sophia styled her hair, did her makeup, had her breakfast, took her bag and left for classes. She was nervous and excited at the same time, smiling inwardly as she activated her imagination once again. She quickly photocopied some documents and began arranging them as she headed to the door. "Ahh!", she shouted as she bumped into someone. The photocopied documents left her hands as they were flying in the air all scattered. "Sorry, I didn't mean...", said the guy who bumped into her. He couldn't complete the sentence as he recognized her. Sophia who was in a hurry to leave, quickly bent down to pick up the documents. She had expected him to help or at least apologize properly. When she noticed he was mute, she could not complete her sentence too. "What!!! You, again?", shouted Sophia in disbelief. The guy who had bumped into her was Alvin.

Alvin was a twenty year old freshman. He finished high school at eighteen and decided to work and volunteer too for some time before entering university. He was tall, had long dark curly hair and could get mistaken for a model. Some of his friends had adviced him to go into modelling, but he refused and said he wanted a degree first and that he might consider modelling later on. He only said that to make them stop; he was not interested in modelling at all. He had a great taste in fashion and was good at playing sports.

"Mtchew", sighed Alvin as he walked past Sophia.
"Oh God, why, why here, why now. Not this bad luck, ah!", Sophia said as she shook her head and left for class. After about four minutes, she finally got to the class. Some students were already seated, while some could be seen chatting and laughing. She went to a seat and made herself comfortable. She started having a brief conversation with a fellow course mate, whilst waiting for the lecturer to arrive.

Not long after, Alvin walked into the class and caught the attention of some students, including Sophia. Her jaw dropped in disbelief. She wondered if it was a coincidence or if he was actually following her. Her mood changed cause at that point, she disliked Alvin. Alvin wanted to sit down on a empty seat close to Sophia, but opted for another seat when he noticed Sophia was there. He also wondered of it was a coincidence. But whatever it was, he did not like it. Soon, the lecturer came in and addressed them and started teaching.

It was just the first day of classes, so there wasn't much to do. By 2:00pm, Sophia was done with all her classes. She went to the cafeteria and hoped she wouldn't bump into Alvin there too. Well, her prayers were answered as he wasn't there. She had her lunch and headed back to the dorm. When Jane came back, she narrated how her day went and also told her about the situation with Alvin. Jane was surprised as well and asked her to be careful. She laughed at the situation saying it was actually funny. They continued gisting and laughing as they did their work.

Two weeks had passed by and Sophia was enjoying her university life. She tried all she could to avoid Alvin in class, so did Alvin.

One day, Sophia came back to the dorm from classes and met Jane unusually happy and smiling, texting someone with her phone.
"Why are you smiling a lot? What's the matter?",
"Hahaha. Nothing serious, just texting someone on Dis app", replied Jane smiling.
"What app?", asked Sophia.
"Dis app. D, I, S. It's a new app though. You can chat with people around the world. You know, just to make friends and maybe find a ........ hahaha", Jane explained to Sophia. "It's actually fun", she continued "and it's just text, no video calling. It's okay though. I just use it to pass time".
"Well, I think I might install it. Making friends on campus isn't easy. I'll just try it later, but if I don't like it, I'll uninstall", Sophia told Jane.
"Whatever. It's your decision", Jane replied Sophia as they both laughed. Sophia jumped on her bed, laying down flat as she was exhausted from lectures.
