Blake walks through the halls, talking to himself, "They'd never actually see me that way. I've known them for years. They've supported me, but these feelings just won't leave.." Blake tells himself until Fae punches him in the shoulder "What ya doin" Fae asks "! NOTHING! ... nothing," Blake stammers out, slightly red. "Yeah, sure, buddy," Fae says with a smirk as she leans on his shoulder. "So what's actually up?" Fae asks. "Well, ya know Robin," Blake says. "... yeah duh, you never shut up about him," Fae says, looking away. "They..." Blake corrects her, "They?" Fae asks. "Yeah, Robin is non-binary," Blake tells Fae. "Oh well, anyways, you never shut up about that, Robin," Fae says, looking at Blake. "Set me to guess you have little feelings for them," Fae says, making fun of the idea of stopping as she realizes Blake hasn't spoken. "... Wait, you don't ya," Fae says, looking at Blake. "... maybe?" Blake says, covering his face. "Maybe I have for years, and maybe I just don't know how to tell them," Blake says. "Blake, stop with the 'maybe I have' shit. I get it," Fae says, slightly annoyed. "Since I know this now, I'm gonna help ya know," Fae says, putting an arm around his shoulder. "yeah, I'm not so sure about that. I've been trying for years," Blake admits. "Blake, as long as I've known you, which is admittedly only a few weeks, but seeing how you and Robin act together, it's obvious they like you too," Fae tells Blake.
Hours later, Fae and Blake talk about Robin Fae attempting to understand where his feelings come from and what it is he likes about Robin "I like ... how they always laugh at my jokes even if I know they not that funny," Blake says, blushing "I love how they always beat me when we play games and never apologizes" Blake continues "I- I love everything about them" Blake finally admits Fae just tired of this conversation "okay that's a lot to go off of so ... why not just tell them" Fae says "were you even listening to me" Blake asks "seems to me you're just playing with your constellation magic" Blake says looking at Fae "uh!" Fae says, looking up, not listening. "I'm leaving," Blake says, walking out the door.
Robin sits on a medical bed talking to Atticus, who barely stays awake, his eyes closing only to open seconds later. "Atticus, why don't I leave you to get some rest
The late evening stretches on Blake standing outside Robin's room, flowers in his hands. "Okay, Fae told me just to be blunt and spit it out. If they say no, then nothing gotta change between us. It's just Robin and me being friends, so ... why is this so difficult?" Blake thinks to himself, knocking on the door. Robin opens it. "Hello..? Oh Blake, what you doing here so late?" Robin asks, "Um, I wanted to ask you to..." Blake pauses Robin, staring at him, his dark skin slowly turning red. "I WANTED TO ASK YOU OUT!" Blake blurts out his face bright Red Robin, staring at him, their mouth agape. "Blake I... I honestly don't know," Robin says, looking at their best friend since childhood, the person who had held them through everything whose mother treated them as their own. "Blake, I'm sorry, I... I need time to think," Robin tells Blake, looking away. "I honestly never thought of you that way," Robin continues, Blake only staring, his eyes soulless and dead. "It's fine, Robin, I understand," Blake says, walking away, the flowers in his hands dropping to the floor, his eyes filling with tears as his footsteps fill the empty halls.
