Chris

So far, we packed everything we needed to prepare Vick for a new life. A new home. It might be tough, but it'll work.
Mijo and I decided it would be best to move back to Cali. You know, for Vick to live with me.
Don't worry. We covered our tracks. No one will ever know where we are. The only people I trust right now is Mijo, my best friend, and Victoria, my one and only love.

I knew I could do it. From the moment she bled into my arms as her eyes shut and her breathing stopped.
Her life is so precious to me. No matter how weird she is.
Hmm. My angel. Angel. That's her new nickname.

"Chris, we're packed. So we driving or flying?" Mijo asks, closing the trunk of my car.

"Drive. It gives us time to think our lives out." I say, setting my cigarette down in the ashtray.
Yes, I'm smoking now. But it's temporary. Helps me think and helps my stress. I smoke one every once in a while.

I walk to the car and as I go the driver's seat, I see Angel sleeping in the backseat. She looked so cute. Her hands made a pillow as a smile rested on her mocha skin.
Her blonde hair sat on her face as she slept. I got in the car and reached in the backseat and pulled the hair from her face. Her smile widened.

"Angel, we are almost home." I whisper in her ear as I cover her with my hoodie from my costume. Yeah, Mijo and I still have our costumes on from last night.
Mijo is still a clown. Creepy, right?

"Let's roll. We got a lot of road ahead of us." I say, starting the ignition.
Mijo got in the passenger seat and sighed heavily.
"A new place. A new life. You really thought about this, Chris." Mijo says, staring out the window.

"Yeah. I did." I drive off into the rising sun.

We had stopped at a gas station 3,000 miles from where our destination was. The sun had set and it was twelve in the morning. My eyes were redder than a tomato and Angel had gotten out to stretch and Mijo went to go pee.

"Christopher?" Angel asks, as she circles the car for the fifth time.

"Yes, Angel?" I say, pumping gas into the gas container.

"You know I love you right?" Angel says, stroking my shoulders.

"Yes, I know." I say, rubbing my face.

"Well, if you love me, explain." Angel's eyes glistened with seriousness.

"What?" I ask, like I had no idea what she was talking about.

"Don't joke with me. You know what I'm talking about. Last night. I want answers. Why were you dressed like a Darth Maul version of yourself and Mijo as a clown?" Angel says, lifting my chin, so my eyes would make contact with hers.

"It was Halloween." I say, shakily.

"Oh, Halloween you say?" Angel says slowly.

"Yeah." I gulp.

"Well, how come I wasn't invited?" Angel asks, pouting like a little kid.
I have to admit, her intergating me was attractive.

"You were asleep and missed the whole thing." I say quickly.

"Oh, fudge." Angel kicks the ground with her small feet.

"Oh, well." I say, laughing nervously. I was really excepting her to question me further.
I wiped my brow in relief.
