Chris

I woke up to the sound of a loud party downstairs in the courtyard. I looked out the window and noticed a giant group of college kids partying. And then it seemed as if a big group of boys grabbed a girl that looked exactly like Victoria and threw her in the pool. I saw her struggle and then go under the water. Then flashing lights appeared and all the kids ran, leaving the girl to drown. I have to help her!

I put my T-shirt on and my J's and ran downstairs. When I got to the courtyard, I ran to the pool. The girl's glasses were floating on top of the water and then I realized they were Victoria's glasses!

I slipped off my shoes and shirt and jumped into the water. Victoria was already at the bottom of the pool and she was unconscious. I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to the surface. Her head rolled onto my shoulder and her sparkly green eyes were closed.

I swam to the edge of the pool and pulled her out of the water.
I laid her down on the concrete and shook her. No response.

"Victoria! Can you hear me? Wake up!" I ask, worried.

I put my head to her lips to see if she was breathing and she wasn't. Oh crap. I have to save her somehow.

I clasped my hands together and placed them on her chest and did thirty chest compressions. I then lifted her chin with two fingers and plugged her nose and blew twice in her mouth, watching her chest rise and fall.

I continued CPR until I heard gasping and coughing. Victoria had rolled on her side, and she coughed up water violently.

She rolled on her back with wide eyes. She then looked at my direction in awe.

"You okay? You were drowning so I came to help. You weren't breathing." I say, brushing her hair with my hand.

Vick was breathing so heavy, she couldn't find the words to say.

"Let me help you up. It's okay. You're safe with me." I say, assuringly.

I help Vick up, but she stumbles and I catch her. She must still be weak. I pick her up bridal style and carry her inside.

She looks in my eyes as I carry her and I return the gesture. Vick had a scared expression on her face. I knew she was afraid, she almost died.

I sat her down in a lobby chair. She shivered as I set her down.

"You're cold. I'll go get some towels. Stay here." I say, softly.

I run to the laundry room and grab some fresh towels. I came back and wrapped the towel around Vick.

She shivered again and sneezed. I looked at her as I put a towel on my head.

"The water must've been too cold for you. You're getting sick. Lemme take you back to my room. It's warmer in there." I insisted.

I wrapped my arm around her and led her to the elevator.

We reached the floor my room was on and I led her to the door. I opened the door and led her to the bed. Vick sits on the bed and I tell her to change her clothes and I give her one of my t-shirts and she changes into the shirt.

"Chris?" Vick says, quietly.

"Yeah?" I respond.

"Thank you." She says, slowly.

"For what?" I ask.

"For saving my life. I would've died if you didn't save me." Vick slides closer to the headboard of the bed and puts her head on the pillow.

I slip out of my wet clothes, shower and slide into my pajamas. I lay next to Vick as I cover her with the blankets. Vick sneezes again.

"Lemme check your temeparture. You don't sound too good." I feel her forehead with the palm of my hand.

"You're burning up! You need to rest." I say, commandingly.

I cover myself up in the blankets and pull Victoria towards my waist. She lays her head on my chest and slowly falls asleep.

"You're safe with me." I whispered in Vick's ear.

I slowly shut my eyes and fell into darkness.

I saved a very special girl's life. And I hoped to keep that girl in my life forever.
