Chapter 3: "The Unexpected Invite"

As the bell rang, signaling the end of biology class, Justin turned to Emily with a mischievous grin. "Hey, want to grab lunch together? I promise not to drool on my sandwich."

Emily's heart fluttered at the invitation. No one had ever asked her to lunch before, especially not a popular jock like Justin. "Sure, why not? But don't expect me to share my fries."

Justin beamed, his eyes sparkling. "Deal! Meet you at the cafeteria at 12:30?"

Emily nodded, her mind racing with excitement. What was she getting herself into?

At lunchtime, Justin waited by the cafeteria entrance, his eyes scanning the crowd for Emily's familiar glasses and bright smile. When she appeared, her hair tied up in a ponytail, he felt a strange sense of pride.

"Hey, nerd! Looking stunning today," he said, offering his arm.

Emily playfully rolled her eyes but took his arm, feeling a flutter in her chest. "You're such a charmer, Justin."

As they walked to the lunch table, Justin's friends stared in disbelief. "Dude, what's going on here?" Jake asked, nodding toward Emily.

Justin grinned. "Just getting to know the smartest girl in school, guys. Don't be jealous."
